Cleveland Cavaliers guard Collin Sexton is rumored to be a trade target of the New York Knicks, per Shams Charania.
Sexton averaged 24.3 points and 4.4 assists in his third season with the Cavaliers, showcasing impressive ability as an offensive playmaker. The Knicks are coming off of their first playoff appearance in a long time and could boost their backcourt that currently consists of veteran players Derrick Rose and Reggie Bullock. Sexton is eligible for his rookie extension this offseason and the move could allow the Cavs to gain additional roster options. Continue monitoring Sexton's status in the next few days.
According to Jason Lloyd of The Athletic, Cavaliers G Collin Sexton is “very available” for interested teams this summer.
Lloyd states that at one point it felt like a done deal the Cavaliers would throw a max contract at Sexton. From what he’s heard from multiple sources over the past few months however, is that Sexton is “very available” for an interested team this summer. There are multiple teams that have a need at the point guard position, but would they be willing to part ways with talented players to take on Sexton is the million dollar question. Ben Simmons is a guy that has a lot of trade buzz surrounding him, but one source told Lloyd that “Philly can do better” as far as a return on their All-Star point forward. Keep an eye on this situation, but expect trade rumors to buzz around Sexton and the Cavaliers this summer.
Collin Sexton finished with 16 points (5-11 FG, 1-4 3PT, 5-5 FT), two boards, five assists, one steal, and one turnover in Sunday night's defeat in Brooklyn.
Midway through the third frame, Sexton was ejected for a flagrant 2 offensive foul, elbowing Kevin Durant in the jaw. It's obviously not the way he likely envisioned how the season would come to a close for him and the Cavaliers. Nevertheless, Sexton stepped up in his third year as a pro, as he averaged 24.4 points on 47.5% shooting and 4.4 assists, which were all career-highs. He could further improve his playmaking skills, but hopefully the Cavaliers give him better support next year.
Collin Sexton notched 24 points (8-19 FG, 3-5 3PT, 5-7 FT), three boards, seven assists, and two turnovers in Sunday night's defeat to Dallas.
Sexton has been one of the most predictable players on fantasy rosters all season long. The Cavaliers have had an abysmal second-half of the season, but he continues to earn buckets on a nightly basis. Sexton will get the Pacers on Monday evening.
Collin Sexton racked up 29 points (11-24 FG, 2-5 3PT, 5-7 FT), seven rebounds, seven assists, and five turnovers in Tuesday night's defeat to the Suns.
Sexton produced a nice all-around performance tonight despite the 16-point overtime defeat. A 20-point outing is essentially a given for him regardless of the opponent. Sexton will have to deal with Damian Lillard and the Blazers on Wednesday night.
