Cooper Flagg (foot) underwent an MRI on Wednesday which revealed a left midfoot sprain. The rookie will miss Thursday's game against the Lakers and will also miss Friday's 2026 Castrol Rising Stars game.

Disappointing news for the NBA as one of the favorites for Rookie of the Year honors - and one of the headliners of the Rising Stars game - will have to miss the festivities on Friday. However, the news appears fortunate for Dallas and for fantasy owners as it seems Flagg should be able to return to the lineup following the All-Star break. The rookie sensation is averaging 20.4 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists in 49 games so far this season.

Flagg has now scored at least 27 points in five of his last six games, finishing with 27 in Tuesday's loss to Phoenix. He shot just 8-of-20 from the field but salvaged the scoring line by converting 11-of-14 free throws while adding five rebounds, two assists and one steal.
