Daniel Gafford produced 24 points (10-11 FG, 4-5 FT), 12 rebounds, three assists and one block over 31 minutes in the Wizards’ 132-114 win against the Timberwolves Tuesday night.
Gafford had a unusually massive role, given his recent outings, Tuesday, as he recorded a career high in points, season high in rebounds and logged his most minutes in a game since the start of the new year. The Wizards’ frontcourt has many rotating pieces — which makes the 23-year-old’s output inconsistent — but he’s worth monitoring in DFS matches for the remainder of the season.
Daniel Gafford totaled 17 points (6-7 FG, 5-6 FT), seven rebounds, three blocks, and one steal in the Wizards’ 127-110 win over the Magic on Wednesday.
Gafford scored 17.0 points in the Wizards’ win over the Magic while also collecting seven boards and having three blocks in the process. Considering his limited playing time he had a fantastic outing that showcased his ability as a strong point-per-minute play. He has an aggressively capped role in the rotation which unfortunately doesn’t make him the attractive fantasy asset he could be. It wouldn’t be the best thing to play him in GPPs or Cash Games, however, he could be a viable asset in single-game contest or deep-league play.
Daniel Gafford (neck) is probable to play in Sunday's contest against the Golden State Warriors.
Gafford is dealing with a strained neck that has landed him on the injury report this week. It seems to be minor, and he is expected to suit up Sunday. Neither his presence nor his absence should have a major impact on the Wizards' rotation.
Wizards F Daniel Gafford is doubtful for Friday's game against Detroit according to The Athletic's Josh Gibbons.
Kristaps Porzingis has already eaten most of Gafford's minutes since coming over in a trade from Dallas and this neck strain will not help that situation. In fact, the Arkansas product has played 17 minutes or less in five of the last seven games. Even when healthy, Gafford is only worth a look in the deepest of fantasy leagues.
Daniel Gafford scored 14 points and grabbed four rebounds against the Blazers. In 15 minutes, he shot 5-for-6 from the field in the loss.
With Kristaps Porzingis getting the day off, Gafford moved back into the starting lineup on Saturday. The big man was very effective with limited playing time. With Porzingis in the mix, Gafford doesn't have much fantasy appeal.
