David Roddy to make Suns debut Saturday

David Roddy is available to make his debut with the Suns on Saturday against the Warriors.

Fantasy Impact

Roddy was acquired in a three-team trade alongside Royce O'Neale on Thursday. He likely won't hold too much fantasy value.

David Roddy traded to the Suns

Memphis is sending David Roddy to the Suns for a pick swap as part of a three-way with Phoenix and Brooklyn.

Fantasy Impact

Roddy started to see a bigger role in the Grizzlies rotation as of late with them being short-handed. His role will likely be smaller with the Suns in comparison to what he was recently seeing in Memphis. He'll be off the fantasy radar.

David Roddy struggles in loss to Celtics

David Roddy scored 14 points (6-16 FG, 0-5 3P, 2-3 FT) with eight rebounds and an assist in the Grizzlies 131-91 loss to the Celtics on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Roddy put up a decent stat line, but it could have been better if it were not for a poor three-point shooting performance. As long as the Grizzlies are dealing with their unfathomable amount of injuries, Roddy will remain a decent streaming option.

David Roddy grabs 10 rebounds Monday

David Roddy scored nine points (3-9 FG, 0-4 3PT, 3-5 FT) to go along with 10 rebounds, two assists and one steal in the Grizzlies' 103-94 loss against the Kings.

Fantasy Impact

Roddy played 35 minutes which was second on the team on the night. He has grabbed 10 rebounds in two of his past three games, while playing over 30 minutes in three of his past four games. His upside is a tad bit limited, but he remains a decent streamer in deeper leagues in his current role.

David Roddy scores 19 points in win over the Jazz

David Roddy totaled 19 points (7-11 FG, 5-9 3PT), six rebounds, and one assist in the Grizzlies’ 105-91 win over the Jazz.

Fantasy Impact

Roddy scored 19.0 points in the Grizzlies' win over the Jazz, putting together his best scoring and shooting performance this season as he shot 63.6 percent from the floor and 55.6 percent from beyond the arc. The second-year pro can be a talented scoring asset; however, his production level, consistency, and efficiency could be the key things he will need to work on to take advantage of his opportunities and earn a meaningful role in the rotation and our lineups. Roddy seems to be finally tapping into the upside he demonstrated back in his final year at Colorado State University, where he averaged 32.9 minutes, 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 1.2 steals per game while shooting 57.1 percent from the floor and 43.8 percent from beyond the arc. If he can produce anywhere close to that level, he could become a viable streaming option in season-long leagues. However, it could take some time and a lot of answered "what ifs" before this becomes something or nothing. A wait-and-see approach could be the best before investing in this speculative talent. Although his price point is low, the inconsistency in his production makes him less appealing in most daily contests; he may be worth considering as a last piece-flier, but only if in a plus-matchup. Roddy has a usage rate of 16.3 percent, a plus-minus of -3.4, and is averaging 23.4 minutes, 8.5 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 0.6 steals, and 0.4 blocks per game while shooting 44.7 percent from the floor and 30.4 percent from beyond the arc.
