Derrick Rose (ankle) expected to miss several weeks

Derrick Rose will miss several weeks after injuring his ankle during Sunday’s loss to Sacramento.

Fantasy Impact

The results of the MRI came back negative, however Rose is still expected to miss multiple weeks, and be re-evaluated at that point in time. Brandon Knight (knee) would be in line for the starting point guard role in Detroit, but he is also banged up. Detroit is extremely thin at the guard position with Rose out, so look for a guy like Derrick Walton Jr. to potentially step up in his absence. Hopefully Bruce Brown Jr. (knee) can return to the court soon and once he does, he should be rostered in most leagues as he was producing in good minutes before he was sidelined. Those with an available IR roster spot will want to hold on to Rose for the next few weeks to see the direction the Pistons decide to go at that point.

Derrick Rose (ankle) exits Sunday's game with ankle injury

Derrick Rose put up nine points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3PT, 2-2 FT), three rebounds and two assists in only nine minutes before exiting Sunday's game against the Kings early with an apparent ankle sprain.

Fantasy Impact

Rose and the Pistons were off to a blazing start before the former-MVP landed awkwardly on his ankle. He immediately hobbled to the locker room and never returned. The Pistons have two days off before playing their next game but it seems unlikely at the moment that Rose will be ready to play and should be considered questionable until further notice. If Rose is forced to miss time, Brandon Knight is in line to see an uptick in playing time at the point guard position.

Derrick Rose drops 31 points in win over the Suns

Derrick Rose put up 31 points (15-24 FG, 1-2 FT), three rebounds, four assists, two steals and one block across 30 minutes during the Pistons' 113-111 victory over the Suns on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact

Rose was absolutely sensational on Friday night, dropping 31 points in 30 minutes while shooting 62 percent from the field. This is a great sign for Rose as he has had his share of struggles throughout the month of February but he appears to be trending in the right direction. The former-MVP has averaged 22 points over his last three games and will look to continue his stellar play on Sunday as the Pistons' travel to Sacramento to take on the Kings.

Derrick Rose pours in 20 points as Detroit loses fourth-straight

Derrick Rose collected 20 points (6-14 FG, 1-3 3PT, 7-7 FT), five assists, two rebounds and two steals in 27 minutes during the Pistons' 115-98 loss to the Nuggets on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

It wasn't the most efficient night for the former-MVP, though he was much more productive then he has been in the past few games. He attacked the rim early and often and drained all seven of his free-throw attempts. As one of the few veterans on the Pistons roster, Rose has the green-light to hoist as many shots as he desires and should continue playing a major role down the stretch as long as he can stay healthy.
