Spurs G Derrick White recently underwent successful surgery on his second toe on his left foot, sources told ESPN.
The Spurs didn’t end up making the Bubble playoffs, but White made quite the impact. In the re-start, he scored over 20 points in four of seven games played after averaging just 11 points per game on the season. White figures to be a key piece of the San Antonio rotation heading into the 2020-21 season.
Derrick White (knee) is active for Tuesday’s game vs. the Rockets.
After going through pre-game warmups, White will be active Tuesday. He should be in the starting lineup, but since the Spurs have nothing to play for, we’d exercise caution on starting White in DFS.
Derrick White (knee) is being called a game-time decision ahead of Tuesday’s matchup with the Rockets.
White will go through pre-game warmups before a decision is made on his playing status. If he can’t go, look for Marco Belinelli and Keldon Johnson to see increased run for the Spurs.
Derrick White (knee) is being listed as questionable Tuesday vs. the Rockets.
The good news here is that White hasn’t been ruled out completely after leaving Sunday’s game early and not returning. If White can’t go, look for either Marco Belinelli, Keldon Johnson, or Patty Mills to enter into the starting five. Dejounte Murray and DeMar DeRozan could be called upon to shoulder more of the load offensively as well without White.
Derrick White is being evaluated for a knee contusion and will not return to Sunday’s game vs. the Pelicans.
DeMar DeRozan and DeJounte Murray will have to pick up the slack with White out for the remainder of this game. More to come on the severity of White’s knee injury.
