The Pistons are expected to waive and stretch C Dewayne Dedmon, per Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo! Sports.
Dedmon was traded to the Pistons on Thursday, but Detroit will ultimately waive him. He averaged 5.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 0.9 blocks over 44 contests for the Hawks/Kings in 2019-20. The Pistons signed free agent centers Jahlil Okafur and Mason Plumlee on Friday, making Dedmon expendable. The 31-year-old center will try to latch onto another team this off-season.
Dewayne Dedmon is being traded to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for Khyri Thomas and Tony Snell, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Dedmon averaged 17.6 minutes per game while posting 5.8 points, 5.7 rebounds, 0.5 assists, and 0.9 blocks per game over 44 games played between the Kings and the Hawks. He'll likely serve as a back up in Detroit, which renders him relatively useless in fantasy leagues.
Dewayne Dedmon scored 14 points (6-13 FG, 2-4 3PT, 0-1 FT), grabbed nine rebounds, dished out two assists, blocked three shots and turned the ball over three times in Monday night’s home win against Charlotte, 143-138.
Dedmon has logged over 20 minutes each of his past three games. Though not much of a scoring threat, Dedmon could be rostered if you are looking for blocks and rebounds. He has averaged more than 23 minutes, 11 points, and eight rebounds in his past three games. With two more home games this week, Dedmon could be a sneaky play for owners in need of a big man.
Dewayne Dedmon (elbow) underwent a non-surgical procedure on Thursday to address his elbow pain. He will miss the next three games and be re-evaluated next week.
Demond missed Wednesday’s loss to the Magic due to a sore elbow, and will now miss the next three contests. He will be re-evaluated next week. With Clint Capela sidelined as well, look for Bruno Fernando to see an expanded role. Fernando can be used as a streamer and is worth adding in standard leagues.
Dewayne Dedmon has been ruled out of Wednesday night's game against Orlando.
With Dedmon out Bruno Fernando will enter the starting lineup. John Collins will also get some minutes at center, while Damian Jones should also see increased minutes off the bench.
