Ersan Ilyasova scored 20 points (7-11 FG, 6-8 3PT) to go along with five rebounds, four steals and two blocks in Utah's loss Saturday against the Lakers.
Ilyasova hit a combined four three-point shots in his first eight games with Utah, nailing five shots from deep in the first quarter alone Saturday against Los Angeles. He saw the start with a number of key Jazz players sidelined, and took full advantage of the opportunity. He should continue to see this type of opportunity as long as Donovan Mitchell (ankle) is sidelined.
Free-agent F Ersan Ilyasova is expected to sign a deal with the Utah Jazz for the second half of the season, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The veteran forward has not played since the 2019-20 season when he played for the Milwaukee Bucks, the team who originally drafted him out of Turkey back in 2005. Ilyasova will join one of the hottest team's in the league as an experienced depth piece to help them go on a title run this postseason. The 6'9 Turkish forward will reportedly sign his deal with the Jazz once he clears COVID-19 health and safety testing protocols.
Ersan Ilyasova collected 11 points (4-6 FG 2-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT) to go along with 10 rebounds, two assists and a block in an extended shift of 23 minutes.
Ilyasova had his best performance of the restart by far but it's likely an outlier when viewing it through a fantasy lens. He shot the ball well, connecting with two threes. He paired that with 10 boards which gave him a very slim double-double. The power-forward's minutes received a substantial uptick due to Coach Budenholzer's decision to rest his starters in the second half. It's best not to make too much of this performance.
Ersan Ilyasova bagged seven points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3pt, 4-4 FT) and four rebounds in 14 minutes of floor time against the Celtics.
As expected, Ilyasova's limited exposure continues to limit his fantasy upside. Barring an injury, he's going to continue to be a non-factor within Milwaukee's vaunted offense. Given that players have been off for months, anything can happen, however, don't put too much stock in the power-forward's production as the playoffs loom.
Ersan Ilyasova grabbed seven rebounds and didn't register any other stats Sunday 15 minutes of play.
Ilyasova started for Giannis Antetokounmpo but made minimal fantasy impact. He's likely to get the start again Monday in Denver but should only be considered a desperation play at this point.
