Evan Mobley has signed a 5-year, $224 million max rookie extension with the Cavaliers. The deal could be worth as much as $269 million if incentives are met.

Mobley has been seen as a key building block for the Cavaliers since being drafted by the team and they now have Donovan Mitchell and Mobley locked up for the long haul. With Jarrett Allen under contract for at least two more seasons, the Cavs will be looking to improve the role players around their big three to make a deep playoff run in the 2024-25 season.

Through his first three seasons in the NBA, Mobley has averaged over 15 points per game on 54 percent shooting from the field. He also averaged a career-high 9.4 rebounds this past season, and averaged over 21 points per game in the series loss against the Celtics with Jarrett Allen sidelined. If Mobley agrees to the max contract extension, Allen could be moved in a trade which would open the door for an even bigger season from Mobley next season.
