Eligibility
According to Warriors reporter Anthony Slater, Warriors guard Gary Payton II suffered slight ligament damage along with a fractured left elbow. He will miss at least three weeks and has not ruled out a return in the NBA Finals.
Fantasy Impact
After taking a massive fall due to being tackled by Grizzlies guard Dillon Brooks, Payton was taken off the floor and later MRIs confirmed that he suffered an elbow fracture along with ligament damage. He will be out for the remainder of the Conference finals and could miss time in the NBA finals if the Warriors make it that far. With the veteran out of the lineup, expect Jonathan Kuminga and Andre Iguodala to see an increase in their minutes.
Per Anthony Slater, Gary Payton ll (knee) will start Monday versus the Grizzlies.
Fantasy Impact
Payton ll was listed as questionable with right knee soreness heading into Monday. The explosive guard will start for the first time since March 3 and should see plenty of minutes with Klay Thompson, Steph Curry, Otto Porter Jr. and Draymond Green all out.
Per Anthony Slater, Gary Payton II will return to a rotation role Tuesday versus the Magic.
Fantasy Impact
Payton ll will return to a Curry-less Warriors lineup after missing the last eight games. It is uncertain how many minutes he will see so use a wait and see approach before playing him in any capacity. However if Moses Moody is unable to suit up, Payton ll could see more minutes than expected.
Gary Payton II (knee) will remain out for Sunday’s game against the San Antonio Spurs.
Fantasy Impact
The Oregon State product continues to deal with a knee injury and will miss his seventh straight game. Damion Lee has taken over his minutes and is projected to play 15-20 minutes on Sunday.
Gary Payton II (knee) still doesn't have a timetable for his return.
Fantasy Impact
Payton is dealing with a knee injury that has kept him out for over five-straight games, and there is still no timetable for his return, according to coach Steve Kerr. Fantasy managers can safely drop the veteran guard in favor of somebody who will play.
