For the third straight game, both C Richaun Holmes and C Damien Jones saw minutes ahead of Whiteside on the depth chart.
Unfortunately, if it wasn't obvious already, Whiteside has become droppable. He certainly had his moments of value due to his rebounding and shot blocking prowess, but his lack of offensive awareness was simply unplayable at times. If you weren't already convinced he has no place in fantasy, the Kings lost by 49 points on Wednesday and Whiteside still didn't see any minutes.
Hassan Whiteside scored 12 points (5-12 FG, 2-3 FT) with 10 rebounds, a steal, and a turnover across 19 minutes during Sunday's 121-107 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Whiteside was efficient in under 20 minutes on Sunday, recording a second-straight double-double to help the Kings defeat the Dallas Mavericks. Fantasy managers should avoid rostering Whiteside as a starting C option if possible, as Richaun Holmes (hamstring) attempts to recover from a strained right hamstring heading into Tuesday's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Sacramento Kings C Hassan Whiteside totaled 12 points (5-8 FG, 2-5 FT), nine rebounds and four blocked shots across 23 minutes Wednesday in a loss to the Wizards.
Slotting in for the injured Richaun Holmes on Wednesday, Whiteside hung a near double-double in just 23 minutes of work. Holmes has been ruled out for the next three games at a minimum which could open up some play for Whiteside to be a streamer in fantasy. The veteran center has been a double-double and blocks machine when given the chance this season. His per-36 minute marks of 19.6 points, 14.4 boards, and 3.5 blocks suggest he can still contribute when given the chance.
Kings C Hassan Whiteside scored 10 points (4-5 FG, 2-3 FG), added three rebounds, and one block in only 11 minutes of game play on Thursday night as the Kings fell to the Pistons 113-101.
This is the first game since February that Whiteside has seen double-digit points. In fantasy he's a non-factor and it seems that way for the Kings as well. Whiteside needs more minutes to increase his production and he won't be able to beat out Richaun Holmes so long as Holmes stays healthy. The Kings return to the court on Saturday to face the Jazz in Utah.
Sacramento Kings C Hassan Whiteside (knee) has been listed as active Monday against the Timberwolves.
Whiteside will be active Monday after missing extended time with a sore knee. He should slot back into the mix right away and serve as the backup behind Richaun Holmes, with Chimezie Metu now likely out of the rotation.
