Isaiah Whitehead has been traded to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Kenneth Faried, Darrell Arthur, and two draft picks. The draft picks include a protected first and a future second-round pick.

This move is in order to clear cap space for the Nuggets to keep Will Barton while signing Isaiah Thomas. Whitehead could be waived as the team signed Thomas as well.

Whitehead has bounced between the Nets and their G-League affiliate for most of the season, but Saturday was just another example that when he is afforded run he can be a useful fantasy commodity. Whitehead scored 13 points in only 16 minutes thanks to a healthy 4-for-7 shooting, 4-for-5 from the line and hitting his only three-point attempt. Whitehead also chipped in five rebounds and an assist in his time on the floor. Whitehead has yet to prove he can hold down a permanent spot in the Nets rotation, but on any given night if there are indications given pre-game that he will play a role he can make for a useful DFS option.

Isaiah Whitehead tied his career-high with 24 points in Monday's loss to Houston. In addition to the career-high scoring output, Whitehead also chipped in three rebounds, three assists and a steal.

With the Nets short on healthy bodies Whitehead was able to get on the floor for 27 minutes in his return from the G-league and put the time to good use. It is currently unclear how long a variety of injured Nets will be out, but as long as Whitehead is getting solid run he should be a decent fantasy option.

The Nets are badly banged up right now with D'Angelo Russell, Jeremy Lin and Allen Crabbe all currently out in the backcourt and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and DeMare Carroll both questionable as well for Monday night's tilt against the Rockets. In an attempt to get some fresh bodies the Nets have recalled Isaiah Whitehead from the G-League . It is unclear at this point how much court time can be expected from Whitehead, but in a game between two of the leagues fastest paced teams he will likely receive some minutes. Whitehead typically does contribute when he plays and makes for a solid cheap DFS option on Monday.

Whitehead got more playing time with Spencer Dinwiddie on the sidelines. Whitehead finished with eight points, two rebounds and one assist.

Fantasy Impact

Whitehead could get a start, if D'Angelo Russell's injury sidelines him for a few games. With the Nets playing at a fast pace and little depth at the point guard position, Whitehead offers an interesting punt play in DFS.
