Jakob Poeltl diagnosed with a sprained MCL

Jakob Poeltl (knee) has been diagnosed with a sprained right MCL and has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Pacers.

Fantasy Impact

Poeltl initially suffered the knee injury in Saturday's 114-113 win over the Magic. He was later diagnosed with a sprained MCL and is currently day-to-day. Look for Trey Lyles to see an uptick in minutes with Poeltl sidelined. With LaMarcus Aldridge possibly out on Monday as well, Lyles can be used as a streamer and is worth adding in deep-league formats.

Jakob Poeltl posts 17 & 7 line in Saturday’s win over the Hornets

Jakob Poeltl provided 17 points (7-8 FG, 3-5 FT), seven rebounds, two steals, one block and one assist across 18 minutes in Saturday's 114-90 win over the Hornets.

Fantasy Impact

Poeltl has now scored double figures in three of his last four contests. He is averaging 12.0 points, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.8 blocks during that stretch. Poeltl is worth an add in standard leagues if fantasy owners need help in defensive categories. The Spurs next scheduled game is Monday, away against the Clippers.

Jakob Poeltl produces 16-point double-double in Aldridge's stead

Jakob Poeltl bagged 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-8 FT), 13 rebounds, three blocks and one assist in a one-point loss to Chicago.

Fantasy Impact

Jakob Poeltl made his presence felt on Monday night against the Bulls. He dropped his highest scoring output of the season with 16 points. He also dominated the boards with 13 in a double-double effort. Poeltl could've even had a bigger night if he hadn't gone an ugly two-for-eight from the line. Don't look too far ahead as Poeltl lacks upside and will likely be irrelevant as far as fantasy is concerned when LaMarcus Aldridge returns.

Jacob Poeltl swats two shots in Sunday’s win over the Heat

Jakob Poeltl was scoreless (0-1 FG) with two rebounds and two blocks across 12 minutes in Sunday’s 107-102 win over the Heat.

Fantasy Impact

Poeltl did not score in Sunday’s win over the Heat, but has swatted at least two shots in five consecutive games. He hasn’t scored double figures since December 6th. Poeltl is only worth adding in standard leagues if fantasy owners need help in blocks. The Spurs next scheduled game is Monday, away against the Suns.

Jakob Poeltl pulls down 10 boards in win

Jakob Poeltl accumulated four points (2-3 FG), 10 rebounds, two blocks and an assist across 20 minutes in the Spurs’ 105-104 win over the Raptors on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact

Poeltl came up with double-digit boards for the sixth time this season, and he continues to be an efficient player on a per-minute basis, despite his lack of consistent playing time. The Utah product has provided 10.6 points, 11.5 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 blocks per-36-minutes this year, and he would be an every-game fantasy starter if allotted more than just the 17.6 minutes per game he's currently seeing.
