Walker was feeling his long-range shot Monday, knocking down five threes en route to a new career high in points. Walker shouldn't be counted to score like this on a regular basis just yet, but he has scored 17 or more points on four occasions so far this season.

Walker played pretty well on Monday night. He was able to score 18 points and perform well in other areas of the game as well, although he left something to be desired with his efficiency. He will see less work whenever Andrew Nembhard (shoulder) is back in the lineup for Indiana.

Walker stepped up big time for the Pacers in this game, but it just wasn't enough. His shooting was less than ideal; a couple more shots going the right way, and the game could have been theirs. Indiana is so banged up so early this season that Walker should continue to get a decent workload. Whether or not he can keep up this type of performance is up in the air.

Fantasy Impact

Indiana's centers (Isaiah Jackson, Jay Huff, Tony Bradley) combined for just 30 minutes and were largely ineffective, while Walker and Obi Toppin provided the primary production from the bench unit. Walker's significant playing time and his involvement at both ends of the court were encouraging signs, supporting the case for his strong per-minute fantasy upside.

Walker was previously dealing with a back issue of some kind, but it's not a serious issue at this point and he is off of the injury report entirely ahead of Thursday's season opener. He isn't expected to be a strong fantasy option for the foreseeable future, however, and shouldn't be started in most league formats.
