Jimmy Butler has been ruled out for Wednesday's game versus the Brooklyn Nets with a groin injury. Furkan Korkmaz will start in place of Butler on Wednesday along with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid, JJ Redick, and Wilson Chandler. (Source: Keith Pompey on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: With Butler out, Furkan Korkmaz will start in his place with Redick, TJ McConnell, and Wilson Chandler all benefiting from his absence. Joel Embiid will go to dominating the ball along with Ben Simmons.

Fantasy Impact: The Sixers will likely be cautious with Butler which could mean he misses some time. The Sixers next game is on Wednesday at home against the Nets. Consider Butler very questionable for that game. Joel Embiid, Ben Simmons and J.J. Redick will pick up the slack on offense if Butler misses any time.

Jimmy Butler led all scorers with 38 points Wednesday night as the 76ers fell to the Raptors north of the border. Butler's 38 points were his Philadelphia- and season-high and the most he'd scored since he matched that total back in February when he was still a member of the Minnesota Timberwolves in a game against his original team, the Chicago Bulls.

Fantasy Impact: Butler's best scoring performance as a Sixer came against one of the league's premier defenders in Kawhi Leonard. Both stars grabbed the spotlight in this pivotal Eastern Conference matchup between the teams with the most wins in the conference. Butler's 27 field goal attempts and seven three-point attempts were each highs for his Philadelphia tenure as well.

In Sunday's 103-95 win over the Grizzlies, Jimmy Butler scored 21 points on 7-of-17 from the floor. He was 7-of-8 from the free throw line and added three rebounds, two assists and a blocked shot in 33 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Butler is just 2-of-9 from three-point range from beyond the arc over the last three games. However, he's hitting nearly 43 percent for the season and averaging 19.6 points, 5.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game this season.

In his worst statistical performance as a Sixer, Jimmy Butler only scored seven points, adding four rebounds, two assists, and a block and a steal apiece as Philadelphia pounded New York, 117-91.

Fantasy Impact: Due to the lopsided nature of this contest, coach Brett Brown decided to rest his core early on Wednesday night, giving reserve guards T.J. McConnell, Landry Shamet, and Furkan Korkmaz ample playing time. Nights like this will be rare given Butler's star power and central role in Philadelphia's attack, but after his season-high 34 in Sunday's win over Brooklyn, owners were hoping for a repeat performance. Butler will look to get back on track Friday against Washington.

The Philadelphia 76ers came from behind to down the Nets, 127-125 on Sunday. Jimmy Butler lead the way with 34 points and drilled a game-winning three point shot with 0.4 seconds remaining. He shot 11-for-20 from the floor, including 5-of-6 from beyond the arc. Butler made all seven of his free throw attempts and added four steals in 37 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Butler has now hit two game winning three pointers since arriving in Philadelphia. He's found his range over the last two games, hitting 8-of-10 from three point range and 43 percent for the season.

Jimmy Butler scored 22 points in 34 minutes before leaving Friday night's contest with a left ankle injury. Butler also had two rebounds, two assists, two steals, one block, and one turnover in the game.

Fantasy Impact: Butler was in a groove before hurting his ankle late in the fourth quarter. His status for Sunday's road game against the Brooklyn Nets is up in the air at this point, so monitor closely to see if he suits up. Butler is a must-start in all formats if he plays.

Jimmy Butler scored 13 points and added six rebounds Wednesday night in the 76ers win over the Pelicans. He also handed out three assists and chipped in three steals and a block on defense.

Fantasy Impact: Philadelphia's trade for Butler nearly two weeks ago has resulted in the best win streak of the still-young 2018-19 season for the team, but outside of their first victory with the seventh year guard out of Marquette - a 113-107 home win over Utah in which Butler scored 28 points and added seven assists and three rebounds - his contribution to the team's success has not translated to fantasy riches. Fantasy owners hope that as he continues to adjust to his role alongside Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, Butler's scoring will return to the 20-22 PPG range (he's averaging 17.2 in his five games with the Sixers but has yet to eclipse 16 points in any game other than the one against the Jazz).

The 76ers overcame a slow start to dispose of the Suns, 119-114. Jimmy Butler scored 16 on 4-of-9 from the floor and 8-of-8 from the line. He added three rebounds and two steals in 32 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Butler is averaging 18 points in his four games with the 76ers. The team is 3-1 since his arrival. While his numbers may be slightly lower in Philadelphia with the presence of Embiid and Ben Simmons, he should still provide very good fantasy numbers.

Jimmy Butler scored 15 points and hit the game-winning triple on Saturday night during Philly’s 122-119 overtime victory over the Charlotte Hornets. Butler also had three rebounds, four assists, two steals, and two blocks to go along with four turnovers in the game.

Fantasy Impact: Game! Rumor has it that Jimmy was challenged by teammate JJ Redick to take the game-winner. Boy, did he rise to the occasion. Butler has been finding his way during his first few games with his new team, and he still has a long way to go to learn the offense. But things are going well, and Butler is clearly a major part of the gameplan moving forward. Keep him plugged into your fantasy lineups everywhere.

Jimmy Butler scored a team-high 28 points on an efficient 12-of-15 shooting in 37 minutes of action on Friday night. Butler also had three rebounds, seven assists, and two steals to go along with three turnovers in the game.

Fantasy Impact: This was Butler's first home game in Philly since being traded to the team, and he did not disappoint, leading all Sixers in scoring on the night. After a drama-filled experience with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Jimmy looks primed to start a new productive chapter in his career with Philly. Hopefully that means nothing but greatness for fantasy owners moving forward. Keep Butler plugged into your lineups in all formats.

Acquired the previous weekend in a blockbuster deal with Minnesota, All-Star swingman Jimmy Butler scored 14 points in his 76ers debut Wednesday night, a 111-106 loss to Orlando. He added four rebounds and two assists in his first appearance in Philadelphia's starting lineup.

Fantasy Impact: Butler's debut as a 76er did not play out quite as envisioned as Philadelphia blew a 16-point fourth quarter lead to the Magic on Wednesday. Despite the loss, Butler looked like he is already fitting well into Philadelphia's lineup and rotation. While his scoring might take a hit with his move to a team that features a prolific interior scorer like Joel Embiid and a primary ball-handler like Ben Simmons, Butler should continue to produce at a very high level, keeping him among the league's upper echelon of stat-stuffing fantasy performers.

Jimmy Butler will make his first appearance for the Sixers on Wednesday night against the Magic. The starting five for Philadelphia will be Butler, Ben Simmons, JJ Redick, Wilson Chandler and Joel Embiid. (Source: Tim Bontemps on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It remains to be seen how the addition of Butler will shake out for other members of the Sixers and himself. Keep them all active in season-long leagues but you might want to wait for a game or two before plugging them into a cash game lineup in DFS.

Minnesota has agreed to a deal to send Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton to Philadelphia in exchange for Robert Covington, Dario Saric, and a second-round pick. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: It was only a matter of time before Butler was moved, given all the acrimony between him and Minnesota this season. Word is that the Sixers expect to sign Butler to a long-term deal this summer, so expect the 76ers to be a powerhouse in the Eastern Conference for a long time.

Jimmy Butler (rest) is scheduled to play for the Timberwolves on Friday night against the Kings. (Source: Marc Stein on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Apparently there's been a jointly agreed upon plan between Jimmy and the T-Wolves that stipulates he'll have occasional rest games. He's good to go tonight, but future games will mostly be a guessing game until the forward gets sent to another team.

Category: , Injury Updates

Jimmy Butler was second on the Timberwolves in scoring on Wednesday night with 24 points against the Lakers. Butler added five rebounds, five assists, three steals, and a lone block.

Fantasy Impact: Butler is averaging 22.2 points per night in 35.6 minutes per game. Butler is also averaging 4.9 rebounds, 3.9 assists, 1.1 blocks, and 2.4 steals. He should be owned and started in all formats.

Jimmy Butler (soreness) will be available for the Timberwolves tonight. (Source: Dave McMenamin)

Fantasy Impact: Butler is being listed as dealing with 'general soreness' which seems like bogus, so the question of whether he's going to play on a nightly basis must have a lot to do with his trade request as well. He'll be in tonight though, so plug him into your lineups in a juicy primetime matchup with the Lakers.

Butler finished with 20 points on 6-of-13 shooting, and had five assists, four rebounds, one block, and one steal, while logging 39 minutes in Minnesota's 120-109 loss to the Clippers on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: Although Butler has missed several games this season due to needing rest, and his future in Minnesota is murky, he has typically been reliable on both ends of the floor when he suits up. Fantasy owners should continue to monitor Butlers day-to-day status, and start him confidently when he's active.

Jimmy Butler will not play as it will be another rest day for the star forward whose been rumored plenty in trade rumors. With Butler out, Josh Okogie will see plenty of minutes in his absence. (Source: Sean Highkin on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Butler is set to be traded at some point but nobody knows if it will be soon or just before the trade deadline in February but his value will go down if a deal goes down before the deadline as it will only be short stint with a new team. Okogie benefits the most in minutes but Derrick Rose benefits the most in fantasy.

Jimmy Butler missed Wednesday's game and is now expected to play on Friday against the Golden State Warriors. Butler has been angling for a trade for weeks now and it's only a matter of time as this situation is not helping the team. (Source: The Athletic )

Fantasy Impact: Josh Okogie is worth a look in 12-team leagues especially with Andrew Wiggins knicked up. Derrick Rose is already in the must-add territory after his resurgence for 50 points on Wednesday.

Category: , Injury Updates

Butler finished with 32 points on 12-of-20 shooting (6-of-7 from outside), and grabbed six rebounds, four assists, two blocks, and one steal while playing for 37 minutes in Minnesota's 124-120 win over the Lakers on Monday night.

Fantasy Impact: When Minnesota needed it most, Jimmy Butler delivered, draining six shots from outside, including a clutch shot late to seal the win for the Timberwolves. Although Butler isn't going to make six outside shots every game, his ability to score inside and out, coupled with his defensive prowess easily makes him a borderline top 15 player in most league formats. Minnesota next plays Indiana on Wednesday night.

Jimmy Butler shot just 2-for-11 in the tough loss to the Bucks at home on Friday finishing with four points. Butler added five boards, two assists, one steal, and one block.

Fantasy Impact: Butler wasn't the only starter to struggle as Jeff Teague and Josh Okogie also shot poorly from the floor. At this time, the Timberwolves don't appear to be ready to deal Butler to the Rockets for four future first-round picks so he will remain on the team for now.

The Houston Rockets are prepared to offer the Minnesota Timberwolves four future first-round draft picks in exchange for the star F, Jimmy Butler. The Rockets are thin with players go down with injury or suspended and know they need another superstar to compete with the Warriors, and especially one with defensive toughness. (Source: Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: If Butler winds up with Houston, it would be an incredible lineup with Butler, CP3, Capela, James Harden, and some other mix of PJ Tucker, James Ennis, or Carmelo Anthony. Butler won't lose much in terms of value but will take a hit on the offensive end. Stay tuned.

Butler finished with 23 points on 7-of-13 shooting, and grabbed six steals, five assists, and four rebounds while logging 37 minutes in Minnesota's 112-105 loss to Toronto on Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Butler continues to show how much the Timberwolves need him, leading the team in points scored for a second straight game, and in three of Minnesota's first five games. As long as Butler is healthy, he is capable of putting up big numbers, and can consistently be a top 15 player.

Jimmy Butler scored 20 points in Monday's win over the Pacers while shooting a solid 50 percent from the floor. Butler added three boards, three assists, one steal, and one block but four turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Butler will continue to rest on back-to-back sets as he continues to search for a trade out of Minnesota. Continue to get him in your lineups and if Andrew Wiggins misses any time, he will get a boost.

Jimmy Butler will rest on Saturday and not play against the Mavericks. Already, back-to-back sets causing star players to sit out the second game of the back-to-back set. (Source: Wolves PR on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: With Butler out, hopefully, Karl Anthony-Towns can get going on the offensive end while Derrick Rose, Tyus Jones, and Josh Okogie will all see more minutes. Jones could be a solid cheap value play in DFS on Saturday.

Category: , Injury Updates

Butler finished with 33 points on 10-of-12 shooting, and went 12-for-12 from the charity stripe, and 1-for-1 from outside, while grabbing seven rebounds, four steals, three assists, and two blocks in 36 minutes versus the Cavaliers on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Butler is off to a great start this season, averaging 28.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game. If Butler can keep playing with the intensity he has so far, his fantasy value will skyrocket.

Butler finished with 23 points on 9-of-23 shooting, and grabbed seven rebounds, four steals, and three assists, while playing for 32 minutes in Minnesota's 112-108 loss to the Spurs on Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Other than going 9-of-23 from the floor, Butler was effective across the board in this game. There are still plenty of question marks surrounding Butler, as he has told Minnesota he wants out, however he will remain a solid fantasy option, no matter what team he is on.

We'll believe it when we see it, as Thibodeau is known for over-working his players. He said Jimmy would play in "shorter segments" to begin the season. (Source: Kyle Ratke on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This shouldn't impact Jimmy's fantasy outlook much, it likely means his conditioning isn't quite there after missing most of camp and all of the preseason.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are not expected to complete a trade involving star Jimmy Butler before the season opener on Oct 17th against the Spurs. Butler has demanded to be traded and according to reports, he will get his wish but not before the season opens. Keita Bates-Diop is a player who will see more minutes when Butler is moved. (Source: Athletic)

Fantasy Impact: Of course, the Wolves wanted to keep Butler in Minnesota as long as possible to up his trade value but at what cost for this season. Miami seems to be the frontrunner and Josh Richardson is a piece in the deal. Once a deal is complete, Andrew Wiggins and Jeff Teague get a nice boost while Keita Bates-Diop and Luol Deng also benefit. Butler is still an early-round pick on either the Heat or Wolves. If he's traded to a contender like the 76ers, that could change slightly but not enough to push him back in re-draft leagues.

The Miami Heat have emerged as the favorites to land Minnesota's Jimmy Butler if he is dealt, while teams such as the 76ers, Rockets, and Nets appear to be out of the running as the Wolves asking price grows steeper. (Source: Heavy.com)

Fantasy Impact: When the rumors first surfaced that the Sixers might attempt to add Butler to their young core, the idea of a new superteam in the East residing in Philadelphia seemed possible. As the rumor mill cooled, it became clear that Minnesota would only entertain an offer for their star swingman if the Sixers included one of their young ball-handlers (Ben Simmons or Markelle Fultz) as part of the deal. Furthermore, concerns of Butler's potential impact on a very young locker room kept Philadelphia from pursuing any deal with vigor.

The Minnesota Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor wants to keep or trade Jimmy Butler by Tuesday. Butler demanded a trade last week and now it looks like he will get his wish. Butler requested the Nets, Clippers, and Knicks but the Heat, 76ers, Rockets, Blazers, and Pistons are all interested. The Wolves will have no choice but to take the best package which the Nets and Knicks probably can't provide. (Source: ESPN.com)

Fantasy Impact: Butler will remain an early-round draft pick even in a new city. When he does leave Minnesota, Towns and Andrew Wiggins will be in line for even more work along with Jeff Teague, Tyus Jones, Taj Gibson, Luol Deng, and Keita Bates-Diop seeing more minutes and value.

Category: , Rumors

Jimmy Butler finished with eight points on 4-of-10 shooting and put up five rebounds, five assists, and one block in 30 minutes versus Houston.

Fantasy Impact: After the game, Timberwolves' head coach Tom Thibodeau said Butler didn't play in the fourth quarter due to knee soreness. Butler's struggles in Game 5 should not be too concerning to fantasy owners, as Butler's play time was limited for cautionary reasons and he should be good to go next year after having all offseason to recover.

Jimmy Butler finished with 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting and collected seven rebounds, seven assists, and one steal in 41 minutes versus Houston on Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: After posting anemic numbers in Games 1 and 2, Butler bounced back and led the Timberwolves to an impressive win over Houston. Look for Butler to post similar numbers in Game 4, as Minnesota will be relying on him offensively and defensively to avoid going back to Houston down 3-1.

Jimmy Butler finished with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting and put up four rebounds and two assists in 25 minutes versus Houston on Wednesday night.

Fantasy Impact: Butler, along with the rest of Minnesota's starters couldn't get into a rhythm versus Houston, which led to him only playing for 25 minutes. Look for Butler and the rest of Minnesota's starters to bounce back, as Games 3 and 4 will be played in front of a home crowd at Target Center.

Jimmy Butler played 41 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Nuggets. He shot 10-for-21 from the field, 1-for-4 from three-point range and 10-for-13 from the field. Butler finished with 31 points, five rebounds, five assists, one block, one steal and three turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Butler was absolutely sensational in this win and should help carry the Timberwolves in the playoffs against the Rockets. Butler might not have enough to upset the Rockets but should make them nervous in round 1. He will be a fantastic play as a daily fantasy option.

Jimmy Butler finished the game with 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting and put up four steals, two rebounds, and one assist in 23 minutes versus the Lakers on Friday night.

Fantasy Impact: Although this was Butler's first game back after missing 17 games with a knee injury, he looked like he never left. Butler scored 18 points while shooting 70 percent from the floor, and also had four steals. Look for Butler's numbers to get even better as his minutes will increase with the Wolves in the middle of a tight playoff race.

Jimmy Butler has a good chance of playing Friday night against the Lakers. He was active against the Nuggets but the decision was made to keep him out for another day.

Jimmy Butler suffered a tear to his right meniscus on Friday which wasn't as bad as originally thought when the expectation was that he suffered a torn ACL. However, it's a little worse after there was an MRI which came back negative. Butler will miss between four to six weeks with the injury post surgery. Nemanja Bjelica will start in his place. (Source: Shams Charania on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Bjelica benefits greatly in minutes and value with Butler out while Jeff Teague, Andrew Wiggins, Taj Gibson, and Karl Anthony-Towns also benefit. Marcus Georges-Hunt, Tyus Jones, and Jamal Crawford also benefit and pick up more minutes.

Jimmy Butler suffered a non-contact injury to his knee on Friday night against the Rockets. He left the game in the third quarter finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists. He will have an MRI on Saturday but there is optimism that Butler may have avoided an ACL tear. (Source: David Aldridge on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Butler will surely miss Saturday's game against this old team, the Bulls and maybe more depending on the results of the MRI. The Wolves start a three-game West Coast road trip on Monday before returning home on Thursday, March 8th. Butler owners should hold him until news of the MRI is released before determining how to proceed. Nemanja Bjelica will likely enter the starting lineup and is an excellent DFS option on Saturday. Karl-Anthony Towns, Andrew Wiggins, Jeff Teague and Jamal Crawford will also gain usage for as long as Butler is out.

The Wolves are close to acquiring Jimmy Butler, according to ESPN's Marc Stein. Whoa boy. This has been the hot story for a few hours and the Wolves would almost certainly be using their No. 7 pick. The Bulls lost in overtime to the Hornets 104-108. The starters all finished around 24 minutes and four of the five scored double-digit points. This is a good sign for the Bulls as we near the start of the regular season. Jimmy Butler played 24 minutes and scored 15 points. He was one for two at the three and also grabbed two rebounds. He finished with two assists and three turnovers.

Fantasy Impact: Jimmy Butler is becoming the star and the face of this franchise. It started last season and even with Dwyane Wade and Rajon Rondo, this is Butler's team. Butler is a great player to own in category leagues and worth a look in the second round of most leagues.

Fantasy Impact: Butler will continue to be a popular name in rumors leading up to the draft. He's been targeted by a few teams, also including the Timberwolves, but the Bulls' asking price remains very high. This is rightly so, considering the way Butler was able to produce even in an injury-riddled campaign.

Jimmy Butler:

Thu, May 19th 5:47pm EDT
By Jake Perper

In a sit down interview with ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell on Tuesday, Bulls guard Jimmy Butler touched on just about everything: his future with the team, role, relationship with Derrick Rose, and much more. He represented the Bulls at the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: After averaging 20.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and 1.6 steals per game last season under first-year head coach Fred Hoiberg, Butler has to be even better this upcoming season with the team likely to make changes to the roster. His field goal percentage fell to 45.4 and his 3-point percentage fell to 31.2. Both are solid, but I'm sure Butler would say he can do better. He's the leader of this group.

The Bulls are one game out of the playoffs now that they came back from a nine point deficit to beat the Rockets. One of the key players in the game was Jimmy Butler. Butler scored 21 points, while grabbing eight rebounds and handing out six assists.

Fantasy Impact: Butler looked good on Thursday. This was by far his best game since returning from his knee injury a few weeks ago. He was more explosive and attacked the basket. He stuffed the stat sheet and helped anyone who is playing him in the playoffs. If you took the risk on him in daily he paid off big time. If Derrick Rose continues to miss or see limited playing time, then Butler should have more value when the Bulls host the Pistons on Saturday.

It should not surprise anyone who has watched a Bulls game that Jimmy Butler is not the same player as he was before his knee injury. Before the knee injury, he was averaging 22.4 points and 5.2 rebounds per game. He was also shooting 46 percent from the field. Since his return however, Butler has averaged 15.8 points and 5.0 rebounds while shooting an abysmal 39 percent from the floor. He lacks explosion while on offense now and admittedly passes it rather than attacking the rim. He also seems a tick slower defensively. Unfortunately, with just 11 regular-season games left and the Bulls fighting for a playoff spot, Butler has no time to rest. He was given a clean bill of health, but might need exploratory surgery in the offseason. (Source: Chicago Sun Times)

Fantasy Impact: Injuries are a frustrating part of sports. Seeing Butler play as a shell of himself is disheartening to say the least. He is no longer worth a look in DFS at his current salary. Unfortunately, you are probably stuck playing him in your yearly playoff rounds. The upside is that his assist numbers have increased by two per game, so not all is lost.

The Bulls struggled early and lost to the Knicks on Wednesday. They are now a game behind Detroit for the final playoff spot in the East. Jimmy Butler was not shooting the ball well on Wednesday. He only scored seven points in 36 minutes. He shot 3-11 from FG range. He also added four rebounds and eight assists.

Fantasy Impact: Butler has not been as consistent since returning from his knee injury. He is only averaging 13.8 points over his last six games and only broke 20 points twice. Butler seems to be facilitating the offense more though. He has averaged 6.3 assists over those same six games. Butler still has the ability to play well and should be in your lineups, but he probably isn't worth a DFS spot.

Jimmy Butler and the Bulls fought back and forth with the Kings all night, but squeaked out the win. Butler played 35 minutes and struggled with his shot. He was 3-10 from the field and finished with 11 points. Butler added three rebounds and a team-high, eight rebounds.

Fantasy Impact: Butler did not help with his scoring, but he facilitated the offense. He has not played as well since coming back from injury, but Butler and the Bulls have strung some nice games together. Butler is still a must start in fantasy, but has struggled to returned value in DFS due to his high salary.

The Bulls are still on the outside looking in as we approach the playoffs. They are currently the ninth seed and need a strong finish to earn the final spot. Wednesday night was not a good start. Chicago allowed John Wall to earn a triple-double and lost by 21 points. Jimmy Butler contributed 17 points, six rebounds, three assists and three steals.

Fantasy Impact: Jimmy Butler continues to show why he is a top-50 fantasy player. Even when he scores less than 20 points, he can make up for it in other categories. He is a must start in yearly and can make for a solid option in DFS.

Category: , Game Recaps

Chicago seems to have Toronto's number this year, even when three of their starters are not playing. On a night when Derrick Rose, Pau Gasol and Mike Dunleavy were out for various reasons, the Bulls found a way to win 109-107. Jimmy Butler had an average game back from his knee injury. He finished with 13 points, five rebounds and six assists. He also did not have any turnovers and blocked two shots.

Fantasy Impact: Butler is an amazing talent and should be playing no matter the format. Coming off the knee injury is somewhat scary, but he needs to be in your lineup, even if you are in the playoffs. Butler has some value in DFS, but might be priced too high at the moment.

Bulls' guard Jimmy Butler will not play Thursday versus San Antonio. E'Twuan Moore is expected to start in his place. (Source: Nick Friedell on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: This now makes two games Butler will miss with swelling in his knee after his brief one-game return after sitting out 11 games with a strained knee. On the bright side, he recently received a second opinion that confirmed his knee is still structurally sound leaving him day-to-day for the foreseeable future. With Butler out, Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose will see an increase in usage and scoring responsibility.

Bulls coach Fred Hoiberg told reporters that Jimmy Butler will practice with the team on Friday and could possibly return to action on Saturday. Consider Butler questionable for the Bulls' contest against the Rockets. (Source: ESPN)

Fantasy Impact: Friday will mark four weeks to the day when Butler was initially hurt in Denver, so it sits right in with the original timetable for his recovery. Saturday would also be perfect timing for fantasy owners as there is a week or two left in the regular season and Butler should be clicking just in time for the fantasy playoffs.

Butler will miss the All-Star Game this week but should return by mid-March. He originally suffered the injury Friday night versus Denver. (Source: Marc Stein on Twitter )

Fantasy Impact: A big blow for the Bulls and fantasy owners as Butler was performing at a high level this season while posting career high scoring numbers. Hopefully Butler will be back for the fantasy playoffs, but I would not count on it. Et'wan Moore will likely continue to start at shooting guard in Butler's place. Pau Gasol and Derrick Rose will take on added scoring responsibility as well.

The Bulls have ruled Jimmy Butler out for Monday's game, and he's not expected to suit up Wednesday against the Hawks either. Butler continues to deal with his strained knee. (Source: Chicago Tribune)

Fantasy Impact: The Bulls will likely take a cautious approach with their star, sitting him through the All-Star break. It's not clear if Butler would still play in the All-Star Game, or opt to further rest his injury. E'Twaun Moore is the largest beneficiary of Butler's injury, as he showed he could have a big game as a starter last week.

Jimmy Butler struggles in win

Tue, Dec 1st 8:11am EST
By Blaine Blontz

Jimmy Butler struggled in the team's Monday night win over the Spurs. He finished with 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field with five turnovers in 40 minutes.

Fantasy Impact: Considering the extended run, owners would have hoped for a better showing from Butler. Still, even in back-to-back 'disappointing' games, Butler continues to fill up the stat sheet and provide production across the board.

He did help the team in other ways as he grabbed six rebounds, handed out five assists, and had a steal. Butler turned the ball over three times on the night as well.

Fantasy Impact: This is probably the worst type of night Butler will ever have this year. Even when he does not shoot the ball well, he is able to help fantasy owners in other areas by grabbing boards and getting assists. Butler is a stud and a must start every night he plays.

Fantasy Impact: This was a great fantasy day for Butler owners. He had a good amount of points and also padded his stat line with rebounds, steals, and even blocked shots. Fantasy Impact: The Lakers would have to offer Butler a minimum two-year deal while the Bulls can offer him a one-year deal that he truly wants or even give him a five-year max that he would be flat out crazy to turn down.
