G - DAL
Josh Green managed just six points (2-5 FG, 1-3 3Pt, 1-2 FT) with two rebounds and one steal over 20 minutes in the Mavericks 133-108 loss to the Rockets on Saturday.
Green has started the last three contests and has seen his minutes played per game increase since early January following the Mavericks COVID-19 scare. The uptick in playing time hasn't led much production, however as he's posting 2.9 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 0.7 assists over his last 10 games. There's no fantasy appeal here.
Josh Green managed just four points (1-4 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT) with four rebounds and one assist over 32 minutes as the Mavericks fell to the Bulls 117-101 on Sunday.
Tim Hardaway Jr., who is typically with the first unit, was ruled out with a groin injury so Green drew his first start of the year on Sunday. He did little on the court despite his 32 minutes played. The Mavericks have also been missing Dorian Finney-Smith, Jalen Brunson, and Josh Richardson so Green has seen an uptick in usage recently but that should go away as soon as the aforementioned trio returns.
The Dallas Mavericks have selected G Josh Green with the No. 18 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The Mavericks get a great defender and an excellent transition finisher in the Arizona product. Dallas considers Green a prototypical “3-and-D” wing to pair alongside Luka Doncic. Green’s production in his only season in college doesn’t pop out at you, but this is a guy that wants to play defense and has a very high basketball IQ.
Arizona G Josh Green announced on his personal twitter account that he will enter the 2020 NBA Draft.
Green will follow his teammates Nico Mannion and Zeke Nnaji by entering the NBA Draft. He averaged 11.9 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.5 steals across 30 games for Arizona. Green is projected to go in the middle of the first round in the latest mock drafts.
