Justin Robinson produced zero points (0-1 FG) in just under two minutes in the Wizards' 115-99 win over the Pistons on Monday.
Already having spent time with the Capital City Go-Go this season, Robinson is always a candidate to be sent down to the G League. Even while on the Wizards' active roster, the rookie point guard will continue to see extremely limited minutes except in blowout scenarios. Robinson and the Wizards will travel to Indiana on Wednesday to play the Pacers.
Justin Robinson scored five points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3PT), adding three rebounds, and two assists, while committing two turnovers in nine minutes of action in the Wizards' 131-109 loss to the Timberwolves on Saturday night.
After being recalled on Friday from the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City Go-Go, Robinson saw almost 10 minutes of playing time in the blowout loss on Saturday night. This was the rookie point guard's first legitimate playing time since joining the team. He will most likely spend a good deal of time in the G League this season and will not be someone to consider in fantasy leagues for the foreseeable future.
On Wednesday morning, the Washington Wizards announced that rookie point guard Justin Robinson had been recalled from the team's G League affiliate, the Capital City GoGo, to the Wizards' active roster.
That was quick. On Tuesday, Robinson was assigned to the G League, and was recalled just a day later on Wednesday. This move corresponds with the assignment of small forward C.J. Miles to the G League as a part of a rehab assignment. Robinson is not expected to receive any significant playing time, if any at all, during this call-up. With Miles due to return within the next week or so, Robinson is simply holding a roster spot until Miles has completed his rehab assignment.
On Tuesday, Wizards rookie point guard Justin Robinson was assigned to the Wizards' G League affiliate, the Capital City GoGo.
Robinson had briefly appeared with just 37 seconds remaining on opening night against Dallas. He did not play (DNP: Coach's Decision) the following two games. He was simply holding onto a roster spot until Troy Brown Jr., or CJ Miles were ready to return from injury. With Brown Jr., expected to play Wednesday night against the Rockets, and CJ Miles nearing a return, Robinson's roster spot became expendable. Robinson should receive decent playing time in the G League as he awaits another call-up.
Justin Robinson did not play (DNP: Coach's Decision) in Friday night's 97-85 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder.
This may be the norm for Robinson more often than not. He does not have an established role with the team (evidenced by seeing only 37 seconds of playing time through two games). He is a potential G-League candidate.
