Kobi Simmons has signed a two-way deal with the Charlotte Hornets after appearing in 32 games for the Hornets’ G League squad, the Greensboro Swarm.
Fantasy Impact
In his time with the Swarm this year, Simmons averaged 18.2 points, 3.9 rebounds and four assists per game. Charlotte is dealing with several injuries so it’s not surprising to see them add depth. It’s unlikely Simmons makes a meaningful impact with so few games left in the regular season but he could be thrust into meaningful playing time if injuries persist for the Hornets.
Kobi Simmons agreed to a 10-day deal with the Cavaliers on Sunday. Simmons takes Cameron Payne's spot so Simmons could pick up some minutes right away.
Fantasy Impact
Simmons isn't an add at this point but certainly keep an eye on him with the trade deadline coming up.
Kobi Simmons will not play on Wednesday versus the Pacers. Tyreke Evans, Ben McLemore, Andrew Harrison, and Wayne Selden will see plenty of minutes.
Fantasy Impact
Simmons could've been a cheap DFS flier with so many injuries to Grizzlies players tonight. (Chalmers, Ennis, Parsons, Conley, Green, etc.) Evans should be started in all leagues.
Kobi Simmons plays a career-high 31 minutes in Saturday's 141-128 loss to the Golden State Warriors. Simmons scored 17 points off the bench and added three assists, two steals, and one rebound.
Fantasy Impact
Simmons shot 7-of-10 from the floor. His 31 minutes trumped the 15 minutes that Andrew Harrison played. Simmons has gotten a longer run over the past few days and should be monitored in Sunday's game against the Sacramento Kings.
Kobi Simmons played a career-high 26 minutes in Tuesday's loss to the Suns while coming off the bench behind Andrew Harrison. Simmons closed out the game and finished with six points, five rebounds, two assists, two steals, and one block.
Fantasy Impact
Simmons has taken over for Mario Chalmers as the backup point guard in Memphis with Mike Conley still out of the lineup indefinitely. With Conley out, Simmons is worth a look in deeper leagues and is now firmly in the DFS conversation as a cheap value play.
