Kyle Lowry signs one-year extensions with Toronto

Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry has inked a one-year extension for $31 million, Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Fantasy Impact

Lowry enters the 2019-2020 NBA season as the de facto leader of the 2018-2019 reigning champions, the Toronto Raptors. There were rumors circulating earlier today that the veteran guard was willing to hold out if he didn’t receive a suitable extension offer, but now those rumors can easily be put to rest. Lowry is coming off a 2018-2019 campaign where he averaged 14.2 points, 4.8 rebounds & a career-high 8.7 assists across 34 minutes in 65 games. Lowry, now with a shiny security blanket, seems poised to lead the Raptors in defending their title this season, despite the departure of Kawhi Leonard.

Kyle Lowry withdraws from team USA due to thumb injury

Kyle Lowry has withdrawn from team USA and will not compete in the 2019 FIBA World Cup. He is still recovering from surgery to repair a tendon in his left thumb.

Fantasy Impact

Lowry had the procedure back in July on the same thumb that had nagged him in the latter half of the 2019 NBA season. The hope was that he would be ready to suit up for the World Cup but he had yet to be cleared for basketball activities. Lowry will take the rest of the summer to rehab and prepare for the 2020 season.

Kyle Lowry has procedure to repair tendon injury in left thumb

Kyle Lowry had a procedure to repair a tendon injury in his left thumb, according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Fantasy Impact

This procedure seems to be very minor but it is still worth noting as this is the same thumb that bothered Lowry towards the end of last season. However, per Wojnarowski, Lowry hopes to be ready for USA Basketball Training Camp and the FIBA World Cup later this summer so it should not have much, if any, fantasy impact for next season. However, those interested in Lowry next year should at least consider drafting Fred VanVleet as well.

Kyle Lowry leads Raptors to first ever NBA Championship

The Toronto Raptors won their first ever NBA Championship on Thursday night, beating the Warriors 114-110 in a drama filled affair. Kyle Lowry started out scorching hot from the get-go, scoring the Raptors first 11 points of the ball game. Lowry finished with 26 points, 7 rebounds, and 10 assists to lead his team to their first ever championship.

Fantasy Impact

It took a full 48 minutes for the Raptors to finish the series out, as the Warriors fought hard but ultimately fell short. Klay Thompson left the game early in the third quarter with a knee injury and the Raptors were able to take advantage. This was a feel good story for Toronto and the country of Canada and this year will go down in history.

Kyle Lowry misses chance to win NBA Championship in front of home fans

Kyle Lowry had a good look from the three-point line with seconds left but hit the side of the backboard and the Warriors came away with a 106-105 victory on Monday night. The Raptors were up six points with two minutes left but failed to close out the series and win their first NBA championship in Toronto. It was a heartbreaking loss for the team but they will look to re-group for Thursday’s game six matchup in Golden State.

Fantasy Impact

Lowry had a strong game, finishing with 16 points, four rebounds and six assists. Unfortunately he made a bad turnover with a couple minutes left and failed to hit the last shot of the game. Look for Toronto to be much better from the three-point line on Thursday and put in another good effort against a Warriors team that will be without superstar Kevin Durant.
