Malik Monk drops team-high 18 points in Sunday's loss

Malik Monk scored a team-high 18 points (8-18 FG, 1-4 3Pt, 1-2 FT), with five rebounds, one steal and one block across 25 minutes in Sunday's 117-104 loss to the Grizzlies.

Fantasy Impact

Monk led the Hornets in scoring in Sunday's loss, and has now scored double figures in four of his last seven games. He can be used as a streamer, but is mainly an option in deep league formats. Monk is averaging 9.4 points, 2.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.0 triples across 34 games this year. The Hornets next scheduled game is Tuesday, away against the Celtics.

Malik Monk scores only four points on Friday

In a 104-102 OT loss to the Thunder, Mailk Monk had four points (2-7 FG, 0-3 3PT), four assists, two rebounds, one steal, and one turnover across 23 minutes on the floor.

Fantasy Impact

Monk's points per game average on the season is now a lowly 9.1. While he can get hot at any point and score a good amount of points when he's feeling it on the offensive end, he's still not a player worth starting in any type of fantasy league due to his less than ideal playing time that affects his overall numbers.

Malik Monk exits Wednesday's loss with a hip contusion

Malik Monk suffered a left hip contusion in Wednesday's loss against the Cavaliers and did not return.

Fantasy Impact

Monk totaled five points (2-4 FG, 1-1 3Pt) and two rebounds across 12 minutes before exiting. The significance of his injury is unknown and he is currently day-to-day. Monk will be re-evaluated in the next few days and is considered questionable for Saturday's tilt against the Jazz.

Malik Monk leads scoring charge in win

Malik Monk provided 23 points (9-12 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 3-4 FT), 10 rebounds, four assists and a steal across 27 minutes in the Hornets’ 110-102 win over the Kings on Tuesday.

Fantasy Impact

After nine straight games of single-digit points, Monk has now posted back-to-back double-digit scoring efforts, including Tuesday's team-leading total. With Terry Rozier struggling on offense recently, Monk has stepped up to provide a much-needed scoring punch off the bench. Barring injury, he'll remain in a bench role, though he's worth a look as a points streamer for as long as he stays hot.

Malik Monk scores 14 points off the bench

Malik Monk provided 14 points (5-13 FG, 0-4 3PT, 4-4 FT) five rebounds, three assists and one turnover across 25 minutes in Sunday's 107-85 loss to the Pacers.

Fantasy Impact

Monk scored double-figures for the first time since November 25th. He doesn't get enough consistent minutes to be considered a viable fantasy option. Monk is averaging 9.1 points, 2.6 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.0 triples across 28 games this year. The Hornets next scheduled game is Tuesday, home against the Kings.
