C - LAL - DTD
Los Angeles Lakers C Marc Gasol (health protocols) has been ruled out Wednesday against the Kings.
With Gasol being added to the injury stockpile, the list continues to grow for the Lakers. They will also be without LeBron James and Anthony Davis for Wednesday's affair. Kyle Kuzma (heel) and Alex Caruso (neck) are also listed as questionable. We should see plenty of minutes divided between Markieff Morris and Montrezl Harrell in Gasol's absence.
Los Angeles Lakers C Marc Gasol (health and safety protocols) has been ruled out against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday.
Gasol will be sidelined in the league's health and safety protocols during the team's game against the Suns on Tuesday. Fantasy managers in DFS contests can land reserve C Montrezl Harrell at $6,500 on FanDuel, a great value add as Harrell should earn the start against the Suns. He is averaging 13 points and six rebounds across 21 minutes during his last week of action and is likely to see 30+ minutes with Gasol and Anthony Davis (calf) both ruled out.
Marc Gasol posted eight points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3Pt, 2-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in 20 minutes of work on Thursday.
Gasol's game will never be regarded as pretty but he did manage to cram a game's worth of stats into a 20 minute stint on Thursday. The center has never been afraid to get his hands dirty as he was active on the defensive side of the ball on the night. He's also made an effort to incorporate the three-ball into his arsenal of late and the results have been fruitful. Despite the old-school appeal of Gasol's game, the fantasy returns don't stack up against more productive (and available) centers. He ranks 50th in the rest-of-season center rankings. At best he remains a value center in smaller DFS slates.
Marc Gasol procured 11 points (4-7 FG, 3-4 3Pt), five rebounds, two blocks and one assist across 30 minutes on Tuesday.
Gasol notched just his second double-digit scoring effort of the season on Tuesday. The big saw a signifiant uptick in minutes as the team tried to fill the void left by Anthony Davis. Gasol produced an unlikely trio of three-point shots as he co-lead his team in that department. Gasol's ranged and gritty game on Tuesday was instrumental in LA's victory but it's hard to predict and/or expect these moments from the veteran center. He may see a boost as long as Anthony Davis remains sidelined, but Gasol doesn't seem like a worthwhile stash in the long run.
Marc Gasol posted just three points (1-2 FG, 1-1 3Pt), five rebounds, four blocks, two steals and one assist in 23 minutes of work versus the Thunder.
Gasol has struggled to rekindle the offensive form that defined his time with Memphis, averaging just 4.5 points per game this season. He didn't offer much offensive upside on Wednesday but his saving grace came in the form of his solid defensive prowess. He notched four blocks to pair with two steals spearheading a team-wide clampdown on OKC. It's hard to foresee significant value for the journeyman center outside of leagues that heavily skew towards defense.
