Markel Brown signs deal with Rockets

Markel Brown signs deal with the Rockets on Monday while Briante Weber was waived in a corresponding move.

Fantasy Impact

Brown isn't going to make any fantasy moves even with James Harden out of the lineup. Leave him on the wire.

Markel Brown with a dud in the starting lineup

With Bogdanovic out, Brown had the lion's share of the minutes at shooting guard. He only had five points, three rebounds and one assist.

Fantasy Impact

The Nets rested Bogdanovic on Friday, and he is expected back in the next game. With Hollis-Jefferson possibly coming back soon, Brown's minutes can only go down. Brown is still worth a look, as he could still be a decent source of points and threes, and the Nets have a five game schedule three weeks from now.

Markel Brown starting against the 76ers

Bojan Bogdanovic is getting a day of rest Friday and Markel Brown will be starting in his place.

Fantasy Impact

An excellent opportunity for Brown as he gets to play against the terrible Philly defense. He makes for a good option in daily leagues and as a streaming option in year-long leagues as well. Brown had two 20-plus scoring night in the past week when he played around 30 minutes. Expect similar numbers tonight.

Another strong game for Markel Brown

Brown came off the bench and logged 29 minutes. He again scored in double digits, finishing with 23 points with three triples. He also added one rebound, one assist and one steal.

Fantasy Impact

With Joe Johnson gone, the Nets have a lot of playing time for both Bogdanovic and Brown. Things could become tricky if and when Hollis-Jefferson comes back from injury. Until then, Brown should see 25+ minutes a game and be a solid source of points and threes.

Markel Brown scores in double digits

Brown came off the bench and played 19 minutes. He finished his afternoon with 12 points, two rebounds and three assists.

Fantasy Impact

With two points in his last game, Brown bounced back with a decent game off the bench. However, he has only averaged 19.4 minutes per game in his last five. It appears he's stuck in an ugly time share at the wing spots for the Nets. Hence,he has little to offer for fantasy teams vying for a playoff spot in the coming weeks.
