Matt Barnes officially retires from the NBA

Matt Barnes officially retired from the NBA on Monday after 14 seasons after being drafted in the second round by the Grizzlies. Barnes was traded to the Clippers and then spent time with the 76ers, Lakers, Clippers (twice), Warriors (twice), Suns, Magic, and Grizzlies (twice). Barnes finished with one NBA title last season with the Warriors.

Fantasy Impact

Barnes wasn't a superior fantasy option averaging more than 10 points and five rebounds per game in just two of his 14 seasons in the NBA. He was more of a role player who set the tone for teams and took it upon himself to play tough defense against star players on the opposing teams.

Matt Barnes limited to four minutes in Game 1

Matt Barnes was very limited in the Game 1 victory over the Jazz. He checked in for only four minutes on Tuesday, and was not able to register any points. His only stat for the night was his one assist.

Fantasy Impact

It was announced on Tuesday night that Barnes was available to play for the Warriors but he didn’t seem to be needed. The Warriors had taken care of the Jazz throughout the whole game so Barnes was just there for depth purposes.

Matt Barnes (ankle) will play in next series

Matt Barnes will play in the next series against either the Clippers or Jazz depending on who wins Game 7. Barnes is listed as probable so he will play on Tuesday in Game 1 in Golden State. Barnes will return to a limited role with Kevin Durant expected to play as well.

Fantasy Impact

Barnes isn't worth a look in DFS lineups the rest of the postseason unless something happens to Kevin Durant. Durant should be in your daily lineups regardless of the opponent.

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play in Game 4

Matt Barnes will not play against the Blazers in Game 4 with an ankle injury. Andre Iguodala will see plenty of minutes behind Kevin Durant who is active for Game 4.

Fantasy Impact

Barnes missing this game won't change the outcome and likely sweep of the Blazers. Andre Iguodala will pick up a few more minutes and is worth a look in DFS.

Matt Barnes (ankle) will not play in Game 2

Matt Barnes will miss Game 2 as well due to an ankle injury. Barnes hasn't played since April 8th but could return for Game 3. With Kevin Durant out as well, Andre Iguodala and Patrick McCaw will see a huge bump in minutes.

Fantasy Impact

The remaining stars on the Warriors must be fired up in DFS play including Curry, Thompson, and Green. With Barnes out as well as Durant and Livingston, Andre Iguodala is a solid DFS play.
