Mike Muscala logged six points (2-5 FG, 2-4 3PT), five rebounds, and one assist in Wednesday's win over the Pacers.
Muscala was 0-3 from the field heading into the fourth quarter but drained back-to-back threes in the final minute to squeeze out the one-point win over the Pacers. Muscala is averaging just 4.8 points, 2.3 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game and is pretty far removed from the fantasy radar.
Thunder Coach Billy Donovan said that Mike Muscala who was recovering from a concussion will be available for Sunday’s match-up with the Wizards.
Muscala suffered a concussion on August 3rd versus the Nuggets and has been cleared from the concussion protocol. The forward/center is a reserve player for the Thunder and has averaged 11.5 minutes a game, while providing 4.5 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest.
Mike Muscala scored 14 points on a hyper-efficient 5-of-7 on Friday, going 4-of-6 from deep over 20 minutes. He grabbed three rebounds and dished two assists.
While Nerlens Noel has been blessed with the starting duties in the wake of Steven Adams's injury, Muscala has been the other beneficiary of extra minutes. Averaging 13 minutes per game on the year, Muscala has played 21 over the last three contests. Unfortunately that hasn't turned into much production, as he's averaging 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds, one assist, and 0.7 blocks. Keep the veteran forward on your waiver wire regardless of Adams's status tonight.
Mike Muscala scored 14 points on 5-of-6 Wednesday night. He was a perfect 4-of-4 from downtown and tied his season-high in three-pointers made. He added one rebound and one assist to his final statline over 18 minutes.
Muscala was expected to start in place of the injured Steven Adams but coach BIlly Donovan decided to roll out Luguentz Dort instead. Muscala played less minutes than Dort but nearly doubled his score, largely due to his perfect clip from deep. The seventh-year vet is averaging 6.9 points and 3.1 rebounds so far in January, all his best marks of the season. That appears to be his ceiling on this squad and doesn't do enough to make him deserving of a roster spot in any fantasy formats.
Mike Muscala compiled 17 points (6-11 FG, 3-7 3PT, 2-3 FT), four rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block over 30 minutes of play Wednesday.
Muscala played the majority of minutes at center after Steven Adams left with a knee injury. If he and Nerlens Noel remain out Friday Muscala will become a great fantasy value.
