Eligibility
Free agent center Mitchell Robinson has agreed on a new four-year, $60 million contract to stay with the New York Knicks.
Fantasy Impact
It originally seemed like Robinson would head elsewhere in free agency, especially with the Knicks addition of Isaiah Hartenstein but he'll remain in New York on a big new deal. Robinson has shown flashes when on the court, but consistency has been his biggest struggle between foul trouble and injuries. This new deal says a lot though in terms of how Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks view his potential moving forward so he could be in for a career year coming up if he can stay healthy.
According to Tim Rapp of Bleacher Report, veterans Mitchell Robinson and Dennis Schroder are drawing interest from the Detroit Pistons.
Fantasy Impact
After trading Jerami Grant for a first-round selection in 2025 and a $21 million trade exception, the Pistons have looked around the idea of adding Mitchell Robinson and Dennis Schroder. Both players are poised to hit the open market next week and likely command top dollar after solid seasons with their respective teams. The Pistons have continued to express interest in adding pieces around 2022 first overall pick Cade Cunningham.
The Knicks announce that C Mitchell Robinson has been ruled out for Friday's game against the Wizards.
Fantasy Impact
Mitchell Robinson continues to deal with a non-COVID related illness and will miss his second straight contest on Friday. Look for Jericho Smith to get the starting nod at center again with Robinson sidelined.
According to Fred Katz, Mitchell Robinson (illness) has been ruled out Wednesday vs. the Nets.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson was a late add to the injury report on Wednesday. He will miss Wednesday's game with an illness which should leave the Knicks short-handed. Miles McBride, Taj Gibson, and Jericho Sims should all see a heavy increase in their minutes off the bench. It's unclear who will start in place on Robinson.
Mitchell Robinson scored 12 points (6-8 FG) to go along with 10 rebounds, three steals and five blocks on Sunday against the Magic.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson didn't even play 29 minutes and still managed to fill the stat sheet in a huge fashion. He should continue to start alongside Obi Toppin to close the regular season where he offers huge rebound and block upside.
