Mitchell Robinson said he is targeting a return to the court in December or January as he works his way back from surgery on his left ankle.
Fantasy Impact
The Knicks and Robinson do not want to rush the rehab process and both want him to be 100 percent healthy before his return. Jericho Sims could see some more minutes in his absence, and Julius Randle could also play some center in smaller lineups.
Mitchell Robinson has yet to be cleared to resume “high-intensity weight-bearing” activities during rehab.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson most recently underwent surgery in the middle of May. His status for the start of the season is up in the air as a result. Precious Achiuwa could start at center to open the season if Robinson is not fully cleared.
The Knicks and Wizards have had recent dialogue around a potential trade involving Mitchell Robinson.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson could be moved as the Knicks remain hopeful to re-sign Isaiah Hartenstein to a long-term deal as their starting center.
Mitchell Robinson sustained a stress injury to his left ankle and will be re-evaluated in 6-to 8-weeks.
Fantasy Impact
Robinson appears to have re-injured the ankle he hurt earlier in the season. He is likely done for the postseason as a result. Precious Achiuwa should step into the backup role for the Knicks behind Isaiah Hartenstein.
