Houston Rockets have agreed in terms on a deal that will send PJ Tucker, Kurucs, and a 2022 first rounder to the Bucks in exchange for DJ Augustin, DJ Wilson, and a 2023 first rounder from the Bucks.
After months of the Rockets front office being rumored in trading assets like PJ Tucker and Kurucs, the team finally pulled the trigger on a trade. The Rockets get back a young 25-year-old guard with team control in DJ Wilson. Wilson was drafted 17th in the 2017 NBA draft, he currently averages only 3.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 0.3 assist per game.
Houston Rockets forward Rodions Kurucs (oblique) is listed as out Friday against the Jazz.
The Rockets will be severly shorthanded on Friday with John Wall, PJ Tucker, Victor Oladipo, Eric Gordon, Danuel House, Christian Wood, and Kurucs all out. The absences should clear the way for Justin Patton and Kevin Porter Jr to see massive roles.
Nets F Rodions Kurucs will start today at the 5 against Milwaukee.
The Nets are extremely short-handed today as they take on the best team in the NBA. Caris LeVert, Jarrett Allen, and Joe Harris are all listed as out due to various injuries/rest. DraftKings did raise his price to $4,300 from $3,100 last game, so they may have seen this coming. In what should be a blowout with a -18.5 line in favor of Milwaukee, Kurucs could see a bunch of minutes, but this whole game will probably be a mess with a variety of rotations from both coaches.
Coach Jacque Vaughn confirmed that Kurucs (left hip contusion) and Donta Hall will be active for the Nets match-up with the Magic on Friday’s restart.
Kurucs had been listed as questionable earlier in the week due to his hip injury was upgraded to probable yesterday. Look for the forward to come off the bench for the Nets and supply 12-15 minutes. Kurucs may be left on the waiver wires due to his inconsistency this season.
Rodions Kurucs (hip) is listed as probable for Friday’s game against the Magic.
It is unclear at this time if Kurucs sustained a hip contusion during a scrimmage or practice, but is expected to play Friday. With many Nets players not making the trip to Orlando, Kurucs should see an uptick in minutes and an expanded role. The 22-year-old averaged 4.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, 0.8 assists and 0.4 steals across 39 games.
