Rondae Hollis-Jefferson was released by the Timberwolves as part of the organization's strategy to maintain roster and financial flexibility.
Hollis-Jefferson, even in a shortened preseason, was able to make a noticeable impact on a Timberwolves team that lacked the grit and defensive prowess necessary to remain competitive in a stacked Western Conference. Across three preseason games, he averaged 11.7 minutes of playing time, 7.7 points, 2.0 rebounds, 0.7 assists, 1.0 steals, and 1.7 blocks while shooting 88.9 percent from the floor. Being on a non-guaranteed one-year minimum-salary contract, Hollis-Jefferson can be claimed off waivers; however, if unclaimed he will return to the free-agent market. If he does join a club, it would be best only to consider deploying Hollis-Jefferson as a deep flier option in DFS tournament formats, given the uncertainty of his role in the rotation.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson notched 11 points (4-9 FG, 0-4 3PT, 3-4 FT), five rebounds, five assists, and one steal over 26 minutes of play off the bench Monday.
Hollis-Jefferson played his most minutes in a game since late February but wasn't able to take advantage. His six turnovers committed didn't help his final fantasy output. He has minimal fantasy value moving forward.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson briefly exited Saturday’s 107-92 win over the Lakers with an ankle injury. He was able to return to the game.
Hollis-Jefferson landed on the foot of Kyle Kuzma awkwardly and exited the first half with an ankle injury. He was able to return to the game late in the third quarter. Hollis-Jefferson was shutout (0-1 FG) with three rebounds and one assist across five minutes in Saturday’s win.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson put up nine points (3-6 FG, 3-3 FT), three rebounds, three assists, and two blocks over 24 minutes of play Sunday.
Hollis-Jefferson has drawn the start in two straight games with Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol injured but hasn't done much with the opportunity. He's only averaged 6.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists over the two starts. He's best left on waivers.
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson provided 12 points (5-7 FG, 2-2 FT), four rebounds and three assists across 20 minutes in Sunday's 127-81 win over the Pacers.
Hollis-Jefferson has now scored double figures in three of his last four games. He is averaging 11.8 points, 4.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 1.0 steals during that stretch. Hollis-Jefferson is too inconsistent to be owned in standard leagues. The Raptors next scheduled game is Tuesday, home against the Bucks.
