According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, Portland Trail Blazers lottery pick Shaedon Sharpe sustained a left shoulder injury Thursday that ended his Summer League debut and he is expected to undergo an MRI on Friday.
The seventh overall selection in the 2022 NBA draft saw his summer league debut cut short due to a shoulder injury. He played just six minutes, going for 2 points on 1-3 shooting (0-2 3PT) with 1 turnover. Several outlets have reported that the injury isn't expected to be severe but reports will likely drop mid-day Friday after his MRI. He is expected to be a large part of the 2022 Blazers roster and likely to be a top-150 player in fantasy leagues this season.
The Portland Trail Blazers have selected Shaedon Sharpe with the No. 7 pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.
Considered to have the highest ceiling in the draft, Sharpe has had several question marks about his character and overall work ethic. Despite the questions, he's shown NBA-level shooting paired with his elite athleticism. Adding Sharpe and Grant over the past two days, along with bringing back Damian Lillard has Blazers fans feeling excellent about their 2022 chances.
