Trevor Ariza
F - OKC - OUT
Ownership
Eligibility
Trevor Ariza (personal) didn't play in Monday's 110-109 loss to the Jazz and remains without a timeline to rejoin the Thunder.
Fantasy Impact
Ariza was traded a few times during the offseason and eventually ended up in Oklahoma City. He has yet to report to the team as Ariza continues to deal with a personal matter. The Thunder will give Ariza as much time as he needs away from the team. It is unclear when the 35-year-old will return to action and he should only be rostered in deep-league formats.
Forwards Trevor Ariza and Justin Jackson have been traded to the Thunder as part of a three-team trade that sent F James Johnson to the Mavericks and G Delon Wright to the Pistons.
Fantasy Impact
Ariza was traded three times so far this offseason. He was dealt to the Rockets, then to the Pistons and finally ends up in Oklahoma City. The 35-year-old forward averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 triples across 28.2 minutes over 53 game for the Kings/Trail Blazers last season. Ariza will provide a veteran presence for the Thunder, but only has fantasy value in deep-league formats.
The Houston Rockets are sending forward Trevor Ariza and the No.16 pick in Wednesday's draft to the Detroit Pistons in exchange for a future first-round pick.
Fantasy Impact
The Rockets had just acquired Ariza from Portland in exchange for Robert Covington earlier this week. The 35-year-old vet will now head to Detroit, though it wouldn't be surprising to see him moved again given his tenure and coveted skill set. Ariza averaged 8.0 points and 4.6 rebounds across 53 games between the Kings and Trail Blazers in 2020.
The Trail Blazers traded Trevor Ariza, 2020 first-round pick and 2021 protected first-round pick to the Rockets in exchange for Robert Covington.
Fantasy Impact
Ariza rejoins the Rockets after previously playing in Houston from 2014-17. He will provide frontcourt depth and backup Eric Gordon. The 35-year-old forward averaged 8.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.7 assists, 1.3 steals and 1.5 triples across 28.2 minutes over 53 game for the Kings/Trail Blazers last season. Ariza will provide a veteran presence for the Rockets, but only has fantasy value in deep-league formats.
Portland Trail Blazers F Trevor Ariza has decided to opt-out of joining his teammates in Orlando for the NBA restart and will instead take advantage of a one-month visitation window with his 12-year old son, sources tell ESPN.
Fantasy Impact
Ariza and the mother of his 12-year old son have been in a custody battle throughout the quarantine. The mother granted a one-month court-ordered visitation for Ariza during that time, and Ariza opted to take the opportunity to see his son rather than partake in the remainder of the 2019-20 NBA season. Ariza was having a good season for the Trail Blazers, averaging 11 points, 4.8 rebounds, two assists, and 1.6 steals in 21 games since being traded by the Sacramento Kings mid season. Portland finds themselves 3.5 games back of the 8-seed Memphis Grizzlies and will have to come close to winning out in the 8-game regular season should they have any shot at a playoff berth.
