Trevor Booker retires from NBA after 10 seasons

Free agent Trevor Booker announced his retirement from the NBA in a heartfelt video and letter to his fans on Twitter Tuesday afternoon.

Fantasy Impact

Booker played 10 seasons in the NBA - suiting up for the Wizards, Jazz, Sixers, Nets, and most recently, the Pacers in 2018. Considered undersized for the power forward position coming out of Clemson, Booker didn’t garner much fantasy appeal over the course of his career. He was, however, considered a valuable rotational big man off the bench. Booker had his best season during the 2016-2017 campaign as a member of the Brooklyn Nets where he averaged 10.0 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.1 steals across 24.7 minutes per game. With minority ownership in the D.C. United soccer club and several other business ventures, Booker will be doing just fine in retirement. He’s hanging up his sneaks after averaging 6.9 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 0.7 steals, and 0.5 blocks in 532 regular season games.

Trevor Booker officially signs with Pacers

Trevor Booker is officially an Indiana Pacer on Sunday as the team agrees to a deal with the veteran for the rest of the season. Booker will slide in behind Thaddeus Young alongside Domantas Sabonis in the second unit.

Fantasy Impact

The Booker signing is not a good sign for Al Jefferson moving forward as his minutes could be limited as Sabonis is having a career season in his first season in Indiana. Booker should not be owned in fantasy at this time.

Trevor Booker will be waived and sign with Pacers

Trevor Booker will be waived by the 76ers to make room for Ersan Ilyasova and once he clears waivers, he will sign on with the Pacers for the rest of the season. Booker was traded from the Nets to the 76ers in the Jahlil Okafor deal. Booker will be backing up Thaddeus Young in Indiana.

Fantasy Impact

Booker was falling behind the rotation anyway with Richaun Holmes and Amir Johnson ahead of him plus the team adding a three-point marksman in Ersan Ilyasova. Booker is off the fantasy radar and should've been dumped already.

Trevor Booker (illness) is good to go for Thursday

Trevor Booker is good to go on Thursday, according to coach Brett Brown. Booker was listed as questionable due to an illness but he's expected to play making him Dario Saric's backup at PF.

Fantasy Impact

Booker took a dip in value with the trade to Philadelphia but if he can carve himself a role and continue to see around 15-20 minutes with Embiid in the lineup, maybe he can pick up a few more when he's out. At this time, Booker should be dropped.

Trevor Booker scores six points off the bench in overtime loss

Trevor Booker scored six points in 13 minutes of action on Friday night in a tough triple overtime loss to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Booker also had three rebounds in the loss.

Fantasy Impact

Since coming over via trade with the Brooklyn Nets earlier this month, Booker has played very well and has even been fantasy-relevant for three out of the last four games. But he came back down to Earth with limited playing time on Friday night. With that being said, if you are in a season-long league and can afford to hold onto Booker, do so, as he can get hot at any point and would be a nice fill-in starter if he gets the start on any given night. It would not be wise to have Booker in your DFS lineups, though.
