Vincent Poirier
C - PHI - OUT
Ownership
Eligibility
Vincent Poirier, like fellow teammate Gordon Hayward, plans to take a leave of absence from the Celtics to attend the birth of his daughter in September.
Fantasy Impact
Poirier will be taking paternity leave come September for the birth of his first child. In his rookie season, he has played in 21 contests this season and has averaged 5.4 minutes of playing time, 1.9 points, and 1.6 rebounds per game.
Vincent Poirier missed his only field goal attempt while grabbing two rebounds, one assist and one block over 10 minutes as the Celtics beat the Magic on Friday night.
Fantasy Impact
With Enes Kanter out with an injury, it looked like Poirier would play a bigger role but has only seen 10 minutes in each of the last two games. Kanter is out once again on Sunday but it does not look like Poirier will see much time on the court and can be left on the waiver wire.
Vincent Poirier fractured the pinkie finger on his right hand during Monday's practice and will require surgery to address the injury. The Celtics expect him to miss around six weeks while recovering from the procedure.
Fantasy Impact
Poirier has seen limited action for the Celtics this season bouncing between the G-League and the team this season only seeing nine NBA games. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on updates concerning the big man to see when he will be ready to play.
