Xavier Tillman finished Saturday’s tilt with nine points (3-5 FG, 0-1 3PT, 3-7 FT), six rebounds, one assist, and two blocks to go along with one turnover in 23 minutes of action in the Grizzlies' 113-106 win over the Rockets.
With Jaren Jackson Jr. out and Ja Morant out there was plenty of minutes to spare and Tillman happened to be a main beneficiary. He finished just shy of a double-double and finished one foul shy of fouling out. Tillman is currently not worth a look and should remain on the waiver wire.
Xavier Tillman saw 16 minutes of action in the Grizzlies' Saturday night 129-103 loss to the Heat and finished with zero points (0-2 FG, 0-1 3PT), five rebounds, one assist, and three steals.
Tillman is averaging 17 minutes per game this season and is the center behind Steven Adams. Tillman is a intriguing stash as he has been slowly eating into Adams playing time lately. Unfortunately unless Tillman can produce in the small portion given to him right now he is not much more than a stash.
Xavier Tillman led the Grizzlies bench in minutes played (22) and totaled seven points (3-7 FG, 0-3 3PT, 1-2 FT), seven rebounds, one assist, and three steals in the Grizzlies 121-118 loss to the Lakers.
With Tillman having sat out the Grizzlies first two contests of the year due to Coach's decision it was surprising to see him play the most off the bench Sunday night. This was encouraging to see Tillman finally play as he is the only true center behind Steven Adam's. Tillman may be a nice add especially in deeper leagues and he may see his value increase with him taking advantage of opportunities to somewhat fill the stat sheet such as he did Sunday night.
Xavier Tillman is not on the injury report ahead of the Grizzlies game Saturday against Toronto.
Tillman looks set to return after missing Thursday's game against Detroit due to a non-COVID illness.
Xavier Tillman logged four points (2-3 FG, 0-1 3PT), 10 rebounds, and a steal in Monday's loss to the Mavericks.
Tillman has shown some flashes throughout his rookie year and has carved out a steady role for him on this young Grizzlies' squad. Unfortunately though, he's playing just 21.0 minutes per game which really caps his upside. He's averaging 7.8 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game but won't have any fantasy relevance as long as Jonas Valanciunas is ahead of him on the depth chart.
