It was not an easy ninth inning for Zach Britton, but he was still able to slam the door shut on the Tampa Bay Rays. In his one inning of work, Britton allowed two hits and one earned run, while only striking out one batter for his fifth save of the season. The Orioles beat the Rays 3-1.

Chris Tillman strikes out nine against Rays photo
Chris Tillman put together a solid outing against the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday evening. Tillman threw 109 pitches in 6 2/3 inning and allowed only two hits and no earned runs. The righty struck out nine and walked two in the 3-1 victory. This was Tillman's second victory of the season.

Jamal Crawford was 6-for-12 (13 points) from the field during the Clippers 115-95 victory over the Trailblazers in Game 1. Crawford is not a major contributor in the other counting categories so it should not come as a surprise that he chipped in with one assist and one steal.

J.J. Redick scored 17 points on 8-for-12 shooting against the Portland Trailblazers Sunday evening. The shooting guard played 27 minutes in the 115-95 victory. Redick also chipped in three rebounds.

Matt Wieters is not in the starting lineup for the Orioles tonight against the Texas Rangers. At this time it looks like the catcher is simply getting the night off.
Zach Britton gets the win on Opening Day photo
Zach Britton came in for the ninth, as usual, and was solid. The Orioles' closer threw 17 pitches (12 strikes), helping the Orioles hold on to a 2-2 tie against the Twins. The Orioles eventually won 3-2 on a game winning single by Matt Wieters.

Daren O'Day picked up right where he left off, dominating the eighth inning. After striking out the first batter, O'Day gave up two hits and got into a bit of trouble. The sidearm pitcher was able to get out of trouble in the eighth with the scored still tied 2-2.

Mychal Givens was called upon in long relief today due to the rain, but got into some trouble in the seventh inning. Givens pitched 1/3 innings, but surrendered three hits and two earned runs in the seventh inning. The two runs given up in the seventh tied the game 2-2 against the Twins.

Tyler Wilson's day got interesting once the rain hit Baltimore. Wilson was called upon to relieve Chris Tillman after the rain delay and threw three strong innings. Wilson gave up two hits and struck out one. The Orioles eventually won the game in the ninth inning 3-2.

Chris Tillman got the start on Opening Day, but his outing did not last long. Baltimore received a significant amount of rain that suspend the game for over an hour. When play resumed, Tillman's day was done. Tillman, however did damage in those two innings, throwing 22 pitches (17 for strikes) and stuck out five Twins. The Orioles eventually won the game in the ninth inning 3-2.
