DeAngelo Williams 'not expected' to return in 2017

by Anthony Cervino | Sun, Jan 29th 3:59pm EST

Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Ed Bouchette does not expect the team to re-sign running back DeAngelo Williams this offseason. (Ed Bouchette on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

Williams' contract is expiring this offseason, making him a free agent. If Pittsburgh elects against re-signing the 33-year-old running back, they will be in need of a backup for Le'Veon Bell. As Bell is prone to injury and off the field issues that result in suspensions, Pittsburgh's No. 2 running back must have the ability to effectively fill the void in the event the former is sidelined. Expect the Steelers to address the position of need in the draft.
