Melvin Ingram assigned the franchise tag

The San Diego Chargers have reportedly placed the franchise tag on outside linebacker Melvin Ingram. (Albert Breer on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
It is a smart move by the Chargers, as Ingram likely would've been one of the hottest free agents if allowed to hit the market. He is coming off his second straight year of at least 60 tackles and eight sacks and is in the prime of his career. Assuming both sides can agree to a long-term deal, Ingram and Joey Bosa should make for a formidable pass-rushing duo for the next few years.
