Jets attempted to trade Stephen Hill this summer

by Tom Woods | Tue, Aug 26th 10:46am EDT

The New York Jets attempted to ship 2012 second-round pick Stephen Hill to another team this summer, but were unable to find a trade partner. The Georgia Tech product has failed to impress in his two years with the team, contributing a paltry 594 yards and four touchdowns - and it should be noted that 89 of those yards and two of the touchdowns were scored in his first-ever pro regular season game. Fantasy Impact:

This news suggests that Hill could soon become an offseason casualty, solidifying his status as a draft bust. After failing to impress yet again this offseason, the third-year player could soon find himself a free agent, which means he would have no value as a fantasy wide receiver whatsoever. But just because the Jets couldn't find a team that would be willing to trade for Hill, doesn't necessarily mean that there will be no teams willing to take a flier on him as a free agent. If he winds up on a better offense, then Hill has a chance to become a fantasy option, but that is a long shot.
