Marcus Gilchrist released by Jets
by Eric Wagner | Thu, May 4th 3:40pm EDT
The Jets have cut safety Marcus Gilchrist after taking Jamal Adams and Marcus Maye in the first two rounds of the draft. (Pro Football Talk)
Fantasy Impact:
The Jets' defense has gone through rough times over the past few years, especially at defensive back. Gilchrist has always been a decent safety, but a recent injury and a relatively hefty salary spelled doom for the former Charger. Calvin Pryor is still on the roster, though it's a real possibility the Jets start two rookie safeties, both of whom are much better against the run than against the pass.
