Jets release Lankster, sign A.J. Edds

The New York Jets released cornerback Ellis Lankster on Monday, and signed linebacker A.J. Edds after cutting him at the weekend. The Jets also added former Browns cornerback Leon McFadden as well as cornerback Phillip Adams, who was cut by Seattle. (Jet Nation)
Fantasy Impact:
Lankster was a valuable special teams player for the Jets, and it was a surprise to see the player cut by the team, who are thin at the cornerback position. Lankster does have the talent to wind up either on the Jets' practice squad or on another team, probably as a backup. But along with his place on the Jets' 53-man roster, Lankster has also lost any fantasy value that he had before.
