Cam Newton could begin throwing next week

Carolina Panthers head coach Ron Rivera told the press quarterback Cam Newton (shoulder) should begin throwing -- "likely off to the side" -- at week's minicamp. (Joe Person on Twitter)
Fantasy Impact:
Newton, who underwent offseason shoulder surgery in late March, could return to the field in a limited capacity in time for next week's mandatory minicamp. However, the 28-year-old signal caller's availability for training camp remains up in the air. Despite the uplifting news -- Newton should begin throwing next week -- he could remain limited at the start of July's camp. Nevertheless, unless he suffers a setback in his recovery, Newton is still expected to be a full-go for Week 1.
