Julio Jones to be targeted in the red-zone more often?

ESPN's Vaughn McClure is reporting that new offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian wants to use Julio Jones much more in the red-zone than in years past. (Vaughn McClure on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact:

It would be a massive surge to Jones' projection, as he's never been utilized in the red-zone. Just last season, Jones was tied for third on the Falcons for red-zone targets, behind both Devonta Freeman and Mohamed Sanu. Sarkisian said, "When you have a player like Julio, it's making sure we maximize his opportunities because there is so much double-coverage, there are so many unique coverages that roll his way that when we don't get that, let's make sure he's one of the primary receivers on that play because it is such a tough matchup for anybody one on one." Jones converted two of his 10 red-zone targets into touchdowns last year and five of 22 targets in 2015. If he can get near the league-leaders in the category (Jordy Nelson had 31 last year), Jones could very well wind up as the No. 1 player in all of fantasy.
