Joey Bosa: dislocated finger won't affect play

by Lauren Boguslawske | Chargers Correspondent | Tue, Aug 22nd 10:39pm EDT

Los Angeles defensive end Joey Bosa dislocated a finger on his right hand in his fourth game back from a hamstring injury last year, a Thursday night contest at Qualcomm Stadium against the Denver Broncos. The injury is expected to require surgery in the future, but Bosa will continue to tape his fingers together and play with some discomfort this season. Bosa said. “It’s something that I’m not really worried about, and I’ll deal with it when the season is over.” (source)

Fantasy Impact:

Bosa was clearly not affected by the injury, as he finished with 10.5 sacks in 12 games. With the Chargers moving to a 4-3 defensive scheme, Bosa will be moved all around the line which should allow for him to better exploit favorable matchups. Fantasy coaches in IDP leagues should look to draft Bosa after J.J. Watt is off the board as a legit threat to finish as the top defensive end.
