Carson Palmer throws for 3 TDs in efficient Week 6 win

by Mark Leipold | Mon, Oct 16th 1:03pm EDT

Carson Palmer completed 18 of his 22 pass attempts for 283 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception. He added five rushes for -4 yards (-3 on three kneel downs) in the Cardinals' Week 6 win over the Buccaneers.

Fantasy Impact:

This was an outlier game for Palmer, but the fantasy production was what owners hoped. Palmer only threw 22 times, by far his season low. However, he found the end zone three times, which is an increase in his production so far this season. Palmer's longest completion was 31 yards, which is low for an offense that likes to take deep shots. The ground game likely contributed, as Adrian Peterson ran all over the Bucs defense. Palmer did not have to throw as much, or as deep, to keep the offense moving. If the ground game continues to roll, we may see fewer pass attempts, shorter throws with increased efficiency, and more scoring opportunities. This might not impact Palmer's fantasy production significantly, but his points may come in different ways if he throws less but increases TD production. Continue to view Palmer as a solid starter in plus matchups, and a viable streamer most weeks.
