Blair Walsh misses another clutch field goal

by Derek Norton | Mon, Jan 1st 6:07am EST

Blair Walsh went 1-for-2 on field goals and 3-for-3 on extra points in Seattle's 26-24 loss to Arizona.

Fantasy Impact:

Obviously, the big news is Walsh missing the potential game-winning 48-yard field goal with 37 seconds to play. The kick was meaningless in that Seattle had already been eliminated from the playoffs after Atlanta's win over Carolina. However, another inopportune miss made Walsh 5-for-11 on field goals in the five games Seattle lost by six or less. Two of those losses (Arizona and Atlanta) included misses in the final minute. He missed three field goals against Washington and a 38-yarder against Jacksonville that would have helped on Seattle's final drive. He did not attempt a field goal in the six-point loss to Tennessee. Despite being automatic on extra points in 2017 (37-of-38) he may have kicked himself out of a job in 2018.
