Joe Webb signs one-year deal with Houston Texans

by Jody Smith | Thu, Apr 5th 4:56pm EDT

The Houston Texans signed backup quarterback/wide receiver Joe Webb to a one-year, $1.015 million dollar deal. Webb adds some depth behind Deshaun Watson and Brandon Weeden but also has the ability to rush the ball, play wideout and play on special teams. (Houston Texans via Twitter )

Fantasy Impact:

Webb has only attempted seven passes in the past six seasons, so the Texans might be adding Webb as a "slash" type of weapon. Houston's special teams have been among the least-talented groups in the league for years, so Webb is an upgrade who also has an athletic skill set that would prevent massive offensive changes if Deshaun Watson were to reinjure his knee. Regardless, if Watson misses time, it's likely to be a disaster for the Texans offense and Webb holds no fantasy value.
