Jonathan Williams working as Saints' No. 2 running back

Clyde Verdin of The Times-Picayune wrote that former Bills running back Jonathan Williams is taking reps as the Saints' No. 2 running back behind Alvin Kamara, per Saints columnist Larry Holder. Williams appears to be the front-runner ahead of Trey Edmunds to receive the most work in the wake of Mark Ingram's absence. "It looks like they're going to give him [Williams] an opportunity in workouts," Holder is quoted as saying in the article. (Nola.com)

Fantasy Impact:

Williams was a hot name in fantasy circles at this time last year but ended being waived by the Bills and bouncing around Denver and the Saints' practice squads while making no impact. Listed at 6-0, 223, Williams has good power and is definitely a name to keep in mind if he maintains RB2 duties throughout training camp. With Ingram slated to miss the season's first four games, Williams could be a decent fill in.
