Chris Carson predicted to be starter to open 2018 season

Bob Condatta of The Seattle Times wrote that he believes the Chris Carson was the team's best running back during OTAs and training camp and is the favorite to open the season as the team's starter. "Now healthy, Carson appeared the clear number one ending minicamp," wrote Condatta. "And if he stays healthy through training camp, I’d imagine he’ll be the starter going into the season." Condatta also added that C.J. Prosise and J.D. McKissic could factor in and that first-round rookie Rashaad Penny "could be a legitimate option as a third-down, two-minute back." (Seattle Times)

Fantasy Impact:

Carson was the club's best running back last summer as well and likely would have remained in a featured role if not for a season-ending injury that necessitated the implementation of Seattle's ineffective committee. With the first-round investment and a solid, three-down skill set, it's easy to see why Rashaad Penny is attracting a ton of fantasy attention, but if we continue to read glowing endorsements of Carson, he's got the potential to be one of the top fantasy football late-round sleepers of 2018.
