by Alex Johnson | Fri, Aug 3rd 11:02pm EDT

The Giants signed cornerback Leonard Johnson Friday in an effort to bolster depth at the position. Johnson was part of a workout which included former Tampa Bay Buccaneer Alterraun Verner and former Panther Zack Sanchez. (Inside Football)

Fantasy Impact:

Johnson joins the Giants who recently lost rookie cornerback Sam Beal for the season to a shoulder injury. The 2012 undrafted free agent of the Buccaneers spent 2017 with the Bills. In 15 games (7 starts), he recorded 51 tackles, seven passes defensed, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery. Defensive back Kenneth Durden was waived to make room for Johnson.
