OG Shaq Mason has agreed to a 5-year, $50 Million contract extension with the New England Patriots, with $23.5 Million guaranteed. (Herbie Teope on Twitter)

Mason received an 81.6 grade from Pro Football Focus in 2017, ranking him 4th among offensive guards, and he is now one of the highest-paid offensive guards in football as a result. While no one likely has Mason on their fantasy teams, this news is good for the skill position players, particularly the running backs including Sony Michel and Rex Burkhead. Offensive line play is very important for running back success, and Mason is a key piece of the Patriots' line.
