Jimmy Garoppolo's Week 6 status is questionable after aggravating an ankle injury that kept him sidelined in Weeks 4 and 5. “I really haven’t thought that far ahead,” Garoppolo said when asked about [Week 6]. “I guess we’ll just take it day by day with the ankle and see how it goes.” This report also confirms that Garoppolo was struggling and pulled because of the ankle injury. Fantasy Impact:
Garoppolo's ankle being an issue in Week 5 was confirmed by head coach Kyle Shanahan. Jimmy G should be considered questionable heading into the Week 6 waiver period, although he has a chance to play. Fantasy stakeholders would be wise to form a contingency plan in case he were to miss further time. There will be tons of news surrounding this situation so it will certainly be updated later this week. If he were to miss the presumptive starter would likely be C.J. Beathard, who filled in for Garoppolo after he left his Week 5 contest.
