Jalen Mayfield selected No. 68 by Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons have selected OT Jalen Mayfield with the No. 68 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Fantasy Impact:
Atlanta continues to build its offense through the draft, selecting the University of Michigan tackle Jalen Mayfield to help bolster the edge of the line of scrimmage. Mayfield played just two games in 2020 due to an ankle injury but is a powerful, bull-dozing tackle that will fit well into new Falcons' head coach Arthur Smith's run-centric schemes. The 20-year old tackle possesses great leverage on blocks and quickness when pulling, which should help open up running lanes for newly signed Falcons' RB Mike Davis. The 6'5", 320-pound Mayfield can sometimes be too aggressive and lunge into defenders, which he will need to be coached up on to deal with faster and stronger edge rushers.
